I know it's only 7 games in but we have been absolute guff especially in defence. Sage has been thrown under the bus because our lack of recruiting decent defenders in the summer. We have gone backwards and need someone to sort out our defence and get the rest of them to play with passion.

I don’t believe it’s about recruiting decent defenders, it’s more about how the whole of the team is set up to defend. Presently only the middle back 3 are our defenders, the wingbacks don’t get back in time and we have no midfield. It’s a complete mess all over the pitch!

In Out In Out Shake it all about, are we Forest in disguise? Is a Palace manager not allowed to lose to Brighton ever because of Alan Mullery?

Team currently second in France: Paris FC, manager Liam Rosenior. Did well at Strasbourg, could not apply same tactics in Prem and returned to France to do well again.

I can imagine Sage could follow a similar path.

I'm not sure that Sage's next move or future success would be the highest priority on everyone's mind if he were to be released by Palace.

I wasn't suggesting it was.

It was meant to just highlight that us employing a successful manager from Ligue 1 may not have been that sensible as the two leagues are leagues apart in terms of style and intensity. Which I think he's realising (or not as the case maybe with the defensive tactics).

It is already clear that SP is more patient than some of our fans and I trust him to decide whether Sage is up to it or not. Only Steve will know how many of the signings in the summer were Sage's specific choice or the sporting director. There is no escaping our goals against is the worst in the division.

To be fair to SP he does know when to pull the plug on a manager. And had been successful in the past when making the change.

ok I think what you are saying is that SP should not look to recruit a manager from the French League because of Rosenior (Chelsea are a hire and fire club) and Sage after 10 games?

Personally, I don’t believe he bears the main blame for the current situation. In my view, the transfer policy of the recent past is more to blame. He’ll still have to leave, though, if the results don’t improve. Anything else would be unprecedented in football.

There are many attributes that a good manager has to have including:
Sound Tactical knowledge
Being able to motivate players
Giving Clear instructions
Being adaptable

I am afraid so far, I have not seen any of the above from Sage. I was at today’s game. I watched our players…no smiling, no motivation and poor body language. They are ‘unhappy’ and this is a reflection on the manager.

Do you remember a few years ago all the videos on the CPFC website with Eze and Olise playing ping pong, other funny player moments - you could see a genuine group enthusiasm.

This season - nothing! No smiling, laughing etc.

In my opinion - The boss has to go!

Yep me too.
Arguably our 5 best players in the last year or so, herderson, Munoz, Lacoix , Mateta and Sarr haven’t been available to him, for differing reasons.
Glasner wouldn’t have done any better without them.
A win and a loss in the Europa.
Doing well in the league cup.
Around where we normally are in the league.
I’d give him til Christmas, unless the form nosedives dramatically.
And yes I know we was fairly lucky in a couple of games, but we’ve been unlucky in 3.

Football is a simple game made difficult by managers, the old adage's are still true, if the ball is in the opponents half you wont concede and you have more chance to score, over complicating it for managers who haven't got the players is recipe for disasters, that is why Hodgson and Coppell have been manager of Palace 6 times between them.

I think bright scored from their own half today 🥴
If it weren’t in there half , it was close.
