Bit surprised by so may changes. I guess people are tired after Thursday but resting our best attacking player and first choice midfield seems a bit much to me. On paper this is one or our more winnable remaining league games and we aren’t quite safe yet. Lose today and there will still be nervous looks over our shoulders

In what will most likely be an aggressive Newcastle midfield it makes sense to play fresh players. Resting Wharton and Kamada until possibly later in the game after they played on Thursday and international games makes sense.

I really hope Pino pushes on from his decent performance on Thursday and let's hope Johnson can finally produce something of note. It's a big chance for him.

Hoping we get something from today to further ease any lingering fears of getting sucked into a relegation fight.

I hope we don't regret changing the team because 39 points is no guarantee of safety. We have a tough run in and this is one of the more winnable games. We are also 3-0 up in Europe.

I realise players need to be rested, but for me too defensive and no creativity with Hughes and Lerma. They will simply push our wing backs back, and we'll be limtrd to long hoof and no support for Strand Larson.

Our record immediately after a Thursday Conference match is very poor, only 2 wins from 11 games.
So time to put that right today.

Conference League is the only route to Europe next season, now. That is the main focus, we have an experienced squad, Glasner has been accused of not using it in the past, now is the time.

I'm talking about getting relegated. 39 points is not safety. Spurs, Forest and Ham are all capable of catching us. We should be trying to win this one given our 3-0 lead for Thursday.

Today's team makes a clear statement from Ollie and the Palace hierarchy that the Conference final is our top priority now.

Good luck lads and I just hope JP manages to take more opportunities to score today.

I assume this was Ollie’s top priority right from the start of the season ten months ago.

Its all about Europe now so to be expected that some rotation is brought in .

39 points is well enough for those that are worrying . 😉
I had a play about with the Premier League predictor:

I picked us to lose every game, Spurs, West Ham and Leeds to win every game, unless playing eachother (draw) and had us relegated on 39 points in 18th, 17th place was on 41 points.

Therefore a win today and we are well and truly safe.

Certainly for Glasner his top priority now is what looks good on his CV and helps him with his next job. For him winning a European trophy again will look much better than a couple of league places. If he won the Conference League I doubt he’d care much if we were relegated. That would be our problem not his and I don’t imagine he could care less what state he leaves us in.

This doesn't make sense...If he got us relegated it would be as much of a skidmark on his record as anything else. People won't forget easily if he is the one to take us down

So having getting a team relegated looks good on a CV are you sure

Johnson’s chance to prove us all wrong. I’m putting my trust in him to show us his skills, run with the ball, attack their defence and deliver some balls to JSL and also score one himself.
Good luck with that!

No but winning a trophy looks better. After all do you think Kompany cares more that he got Burnley relegated or that he got the Bayern Munich job. I’ll let you decide
