Palace to play QPR away in 3rd round of the Carabao Cup

used to play regularly with Rangers but haven't played them for a decade at least now, remember one of Warnock's early games at their place, we went 1-0 down then a Morrison tap in and a Clint Hill volley won it for us, Lee Hills and Sean Scannel tearing up the left as teenagers, should be a relatively smooth passage into the last 16 before we play one of the 'top seeds'.😉

Agree 100%. This is a dangerous precedent and should be stamped out as it’s basically seeding teams. The whole idea of a cup draw is that it is random.

What starts here could spread to the FA Cup and who knows but the league will probably start looking at providing top teams with soft league opponents immediately before and after major European ties so they are not overly taxed!

The system is rigged in their favour already and this further act of favouritism is going to piss off fans from a lot of other clubs. As you say it might well be a good idea to stop any team that has European Cup involvement from playing in the League Cup at all if they are that worried about it.
 
The draw was a joke. Just throw every team in the pot and draw. The powers that be just can’t take a chance that one of the ‘chosen’ won’t make the final.

It can hardly be called a draw now, it’s more like a fixture selection!! I understand why they’ve done it and some say blame uefa for hijacking certain dates for European games, but we all know this suits the powers that be and their sponsors to get as many of the big boys through to the later stages as possible

I think it is a disgrace and an insult to the competion but Jeff Stelling said on the radio that although he didn't like it, it was the only way they could do it.

This is due to the fact the teams in Europe couldn't meet due to UEFA not announcing the fixtures yet so for example Man City could draw L'pool in Carabao cup but could then be playing different weeks in Champs Lge and then they couldn't play the tie. That is why some ties will be week of 16th and some 23rd as this is the two weeks euro ties are also played. Due to them expanding euro comps too.

It does make a mockery of our cup comps though!!
 
Eufa are basically telling the Football league (and the FA by the way ) what to do with a domestic competition ,no replays , no extra time and now teams playing in Europe kept apart so as not to affect their own competitions .
The fall out will be it affects ours with the high probability that those 6 teams will feature in the later stages of the competition .
