I recall Mark Hughes in 1990 equalising and the non event replay without Ian Wright and the disappointment thereafter. Even worse against Manchester United in 2016 with one of the most awful refereeing displays ever seen. All that during the most terrible time of my life as well, I didn't want that feeling again.
Confession: I couldn't watch the semi against Villa nor this final, just checking now and again to see how things were developing. I had a hunch we would do it. It's a fine moment for the club, for the players, for the manager and his team, for the fans worldwide, a proud moment. Savour it, we have a good club that is about football and the community, the antithesis of the moneybag sides like City and the like.
Happy!
