2 points to stay up

Chelsea will turn up for the Spurs game. They will want nothing better than to put one over them. Also, Spurs at home have been utterly rubbish. Yes, they've won at Wolves and Villa but Leeds are no mugs and if Leeds score first I don't expect Spurs to turn that into a victory.

Can't also see Arsenal losing to West Ham either. A point would be an amazing result for West Ham there. It'd take a remarkable run of results for both West Ham and Spurs to finish above us.

I do expect us to get at least a point or two from our remaining games. We are long overdue a decent result against Everton.
We were long overdue a win against Chelsea but still lost at home to a Rosenior team.

As for Spurs and Hammers, they'll both give it a go in their remaining matches to try and avoid being the team that go down. Chelsea are now in freefall - 6 losses on the bounce - they're easy pickings for the teams yet to face them.

Hammers only need to draw with Arsenal to have a chance of overtaking us on GD. We could take some heavy hits against Citeh and Arsenal and defeats against Everton (very likely after Thursday night's game) and away at Brentford together with a couple of Spammers' wins will soon close the gap in Spammers' favour.

Spurs can easily overcome our GD (Only 3 worse off than ours currently) so they only need to win 2 of their remaining 3 games to catch us.

We have the hardest run in of any PL team.

A win on Sunday against our bogey team will allay all fears but with just 1 win in the league against them in the last 23 attempts, that doesn't look likely. Even when we outplay them (as we did at their new stadium) we still manage to lose.

I believe presently Spurs and Westham both have a couple of wins in them. I just hope it’s not more than two as I don’t see any points for us in our last 4 matches. Westham v Arsenal is the match this weekend that will either mean big trouble for us or safety. Playing this Thursday is great provided we get through to the final as we know what Europe does to clubs like us that then play on a Sunday after. I’m worried big time :-(

West Ham beating Arsenal and then Newcastle away? No chance
Is correct.

We must lose all 4 games - admittedly not unlikely - but West ham must win their last 3 games given the goal difference between us.

Unlikely in the extreme.

And spurs only beat a team due to asymetric recovery time. They are not getting that break for their last 3 games.

Scrape an unlikely draw on Sunday and neither spam nor spud will catch us no matter how well they do.

it’s a good job i subscribe to that HLTCo patreon coz he always manages to put my mind at rest lol ,
i did wet my pants after weekend results but we ain’t going down and to be honest if we do we deserve it , well us fans don’t but , we would deserve so there we go , i think we will beat everton for a change , Guehi made his mistake against them for man city , the stars have aligned , plus there is no way arsenal can bottle this now

I think I'm more worried at this point of the season than I've ever been, but should still be fine.

A couple of weeks ago there was a lot of distance, and all of the chat was around there being no way teams dow with us significantly upping their form. But

Leeds have won 11 points in last 5 games
Forrest 13
Spurs have won last 2
West have have picked up a couple of wins

It would be lovely to get some points this weekend and so we can all just relax a little!

I dont think thats going to happen Robbo, Glasner is going to put out the B team again against a very confident Everton because of " Fatigue" and the fact that he doesn't give a flyng duck . Excuse my spelling.

I don't think we'll get any points this weekend. But I don't think West Ham will either and the threat of relegation will be over... For this season.

I can see us finishing 17th though which will be a stark reminder to the decision makers of how much work there is to do in the summer. If we do our usual faffing or keep overspending on fairly average players then we'll be scrapping with the 3 promoted teams to avoid relegation.

Agree, with £3m a place the difference of say 5 places is worth more than our entire European earnings, even if we win it.

Our league form has been pretty woeful for 6 months now and it appears Leeds and now Forest will watch us.

I suspect West Ham will now go down after the weekend results, especially as they have Arsenal at the weekend, however, i'll be surprised if we get more than 1 point for the remainder of the season.

Sunday's performance was unacceptable, but also shows that a number of our squad players are just not Prem quality

Fingers crossed 🤞, I think though its a sad state of affairs that a Club so long in the Premier League have to rely on other teams results to avoid relegation 😕.

It’s currently 150 - 1 for the unthinkable to happen and for us to go down. A £5 bet covers next year’s season ticket cost, if the unthinkable was to happen.
Can’t see West Ham getting anything out of the Arsenal game but as everyone keeps reminding me of Oldham, I might take out the above insurance.

This season has yet again shown how mid size clubs simply can not compete in the premier league whilst playing in Europe. We are not the first and certainly won’t be the last. I do believe we will scrape through this year but will now probably finish 17.
If we do go on to win the Conference then it will be worth it. Not financially as the places dropped in the Prem will be worth more than winning the cup, but as a fan to have the glory of winning ANOTHER trophy is priceless.

The big concern then comes next season with playing in a tougher competition whilst trying to maintain our prem status with the upheaval of a new manager and changing squad.
I guess we could take the Hodgson option of playing the reserves in the Europa league and get knocked out early so as to concentrate on the league !

I put £15 on at 100-1 about 5 months ago and the cash out went up to near £160. I didn’t take it as I felt we would still continue to struggle. However there is no cash out available now as the bookies simply do not believe we will go down. They don’t get it wrong very often.

Crikey mate. I was scarred by the Oldham debacle too and class myself as glass is half empty when it comes to Palace. But without wishing to come across as insulting, you are on another level!

Basically for West Ham or Spurs to overtake us you are relying on both of them producing nigh on Champions League form for their remaining games plus West Ham potentially overturning a +13 goal difference if we finish level on points. I can't necessarily see Spurs getting three points at home against Leeds who are on good form. And as rubbish as Chelsea have been they can turn up when they want to - a la FA Cup Semi-Final. They will not just roll over to Spurs at home, who have around 10 players out injured.

Yes, we have a tough run in and could be just above the line but I would still expect us to get something from Everton at home, despite having a poor record against them and Brentford where the vast majority of times it ends in a draw.

And it would just be helpful if Arsenal could just do the business against West Ham this weekend so we can just stop the doom and gloom!

I got 250/1 yesterday👍

Spurs are going to play a full strength Leeds team , west ham playing Arsenal who will want the win to almost get there , then Newcastle who are only 3 points from Chelsea and Everton ,

after Thursday we can play full strength side against the next 3 , hence why you can get 150 to 250/1 on us going down and west ham are 2/7 to go down and spurs are 4s

Seems a long time ago.
We have been erratic and inconsistent this season.
I'd forgotten how mean our defence was during the unbeaten run of 19 games.
I'm not sure why we have lost the defensive solidity and why we look so vulnerable to corners, in particular challenging for second balls.
After such a strong and consistent spell it seems odd to still be in the relegation mix (however remote that the drop may seem at present).

We haven’t even got to the final of the Conference League yet let alone won it. Could easily be our only concern is the League. Strasbourg have already turned us over once and Rayo Valllecano are no mugs. Either will be tough opponents.
