1st Leg 3 goals up - how would you play it out

Game won play it like we did in the cup.against Macclesfield no sweat.......

Well I hope not go all.out play the first team score early and all should be well.

I do worry though that the intransigence of our manager might try to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory.
 
For me I would play 6 defensive midfielders and tell them to try not to hold on to the ball. Anything over 10% possession is over zealous. Sit as deep as possible for 90 minutes and don't chase anything over the half way line. With any luck we'll win the penalty shoot out, but if not then there's always next year.

I'd play it defensive and save our best players for the second half if we need them. Hughes and Lerma CM, try and get through the half time at 0-0. If we can make them desperate, bring on Wharton and Sarr later to punish them with fresh legs.

If we can get away with giving those guys a rest it helps us in the league.
 
Those on a single yellow get them reset at the semi stage, however, any suspensions are not. So with a 2nd yellow leading to a suspension for the 1st leg of the semi we have 4 at risk.

Wharton and all 3 CBs.

I suspect all 4 will play but it is a risk

Shakhtar in the next round will be tough and what is also a concern is the absurd fixture pile up prior to the final.
It's looks like the City game has been scheduled 2 days before our final game against Arsenal which is 4 days before the Conference Final. The Arsenal game could be a title decider as could the City game and we should be fielding our reserves if we are safe by then. Not an ideal situation for anyone.

I wouldn’t read too much into the 22nd date on the club site. Game can slot into the midweek before Arsenal game or the midweek before Brentford

Shame he didn’t in the last group game when he put out the youngsters and forced us into a two legged playoff we could’ve avoided and started youngsters against Macclesfield that ended in disaster……..but other than that, I make you right 🤣

I think Ollie he definitely knew what he was doing there and he was making a point 😅

I think the extra knockout game may have been a blessing in disguise tho.

Maybe if Ollie had to pay for all our tickets for the play off home game he might have put a stronger team out against Kups🤣
 
I hope OG instils in the players not to give the ref any reason to get sent off as going down to ten will lift the crowd and their players.We have to be professional, remember we conceded three goals in about ten minutes to Burnley in that mad game.
