There’s a real need for Fiorentino to come rushing at us from the first 15

Do we play a sit back deep soak it up and catch them in the break ?

Gain possession , Just Press, go for no 4 early on kill the game ?

Sit deep let go of possession & just block & block aim clean sheet same 0-3 we have ?

Which playing team would achieve them tactics ?

That's kind of when we look at our best anyway. I have a feeling this game is going to play right into our hands.

Attack ‘can’ be the best form of defence. Try and get an early goal, which would hopefully help to subdue their ‘passionate’ fans.

Whatever tactics are used, we all know, this is going to be a battle!

I'd say play it cool, but that was del boys advice to trigger just before falling through the bar

At Selhurst, it was clear they wanted to play out from the back. Our high and aggressive press forced them to play it long and give us the ball back. They were at sixes and sevens. Second half we sat back and let them play and had their player had more composure the shot against the crossbar would have been in the back of our net and we could well have seen a very different result.

Glasner usually wants us to impose our game on the opposition. We should start with the high and aggressive press again and make them and their fans uncomfortable. If we sit back and let them come at us that will encourage both them and their fans.

Play like it's 0-0. Defending 90 minutes is asking for trouble, but we are very capable of scoring on the break, so I predict we will score at least one.

Shakhtar in the next round will be tough and what is also a concern is the absurd fixture pile up prior to the final.
It's looks like the City game has been scheduled 2 days before our final game against Arsenal which is 4 days before the Conference Final. The Arsenal game could be a title decider as could the City game and we should be fielding our reserves if we are safe by then. Not an ideal situation for anyone.

Since the 3 week break and now we have moved into the sharp end of the season our mindset seems to have shifted aswell and we're going for it again. Whereas before we seemed to be talking about just getting through the fixture congestion, injuries, etc, the team now seems to be playing with more intensity as seen with the high press against Fiorentina and once the subs came on against Newcastle.
With all the players now available, I think we'll be playing to our strengths in the second leg and taking the game to Fiorentina.

Just don’t concede early I’d say, we let in an early goal and I think they’ll be thinking game on again, especially if panic sets in with us
The longer it goes without them scoring the more they’ll push forward and it’ll open up for us

Agree.

However, I think inviting them onto us is just asking for trouble.

Kills me to say it, but they just didn't look very good, so we shouldn't be too worried about shutting up shop against them. It will only embolden them.

All cliches but keep it solid with the midfield two and back five, then just try to play our game, retaining possession, and moving towards their goal.

we need a 4th to kill the tie off then get to 70mins before resting a couple of players , we have thrown away big leads before and not just Peterborough so as said play the game as if the tie is 0-0

DJ Jack was saying that Fiorentina have several players coming back from injury for this game that weren't available in the first leg so he expects them to make a better showing on Thursday -

It doesn't make for great viewing, but we could probably do with taking all life out of the game for the first half an hour, with 400 sideways passes between the back three. They played last night and couldn't even fill their bench, so if we can make them run around without seeing much of the ball, they might lose spirit. We were able to rest key players, so as the game goes on, you would imagine we'd also have more energy. I'm sure they said in the last leg that Dodo's booking meant he'd miss this leg? Although he looked defensively suspect, he did seem to carry a lot of their threat going forward, in the way Munoz does for us.

In an ideal world, the team comes out brimming with confidence and decides they can finish the tie by going for the jugular, and we cruise into the semis. That's not the Palace way though, is it!

Soak up the pressure, hit them on the counter and win the 2nd leg to put it beyond doubt
