He was clever enough with his release clauses wasn't he.Mostly money well spent. Only a few flops. Guehi, Doucoure, Wharton, Lacroix, Eze and Henderson for a combined 110m or so is unbelievable business. The fact that Olise isn't even on that list is absolutelt outrageous.
Had he not been we’d have sold him for £100 million and with Reading’s 10% sell on bonus he would feature on this list. It would be interesting to see if we balanced the books on those we moved on. Clearly our big sales, like Olise, must put us in the black on transfers but we recouped £10 million for Sorloth which seemed like a bonus at the time but less so now.He was clever enough with his release clauses wasn't he.
That list is for incomings, not outgoings. Get your point tho.Had he not been we’d have sold him for £100 million and with Reading’s 10% sell on bonus he would feature on this list. Just for you, me old MuckerThat list is for incomings, not outgoings. Get your point tho.
The amounts they show are in Euros which always look either better or worse.I thought Cabaye cost more than Townsend and Luka.
And Armstrong went for £4.5m not the amount it says on the second list.
Aww cheers my Canarias friend 😀Just for you, me old Mucker
I realise that. My point was that Olise only cost us £8 million but with an extra 10% of any fee we received when selling him. So he really cost us £14 million. Had he sold for his value our fee to Reading would have been much greater. Still cheap at twice that price though! That list is for incomings, not outgoings. Get your point tho.

Cabaye cost 13.9m Euros, When Chris Armstrong was sold the conversion rate at the time was 1.37I thought Cabaye cost more than Townsend and Luka.

As was said earlier, he negotiated both his exits from Reading & us, the only reason he signed his extention was the release clause was inserted at a figure that was acceptable to him. As an aside, he's under pressure at Bayern . . . Player finds himself in ‘form crisis’ after Crystal Palace exit – Comparisons to icon long gone - Sport WitnessI realise that. Yeah but we still must have made a good 30m profit plus a couple of years of absolute joy watching him play. I still maintain that he's better than Zaha and if he'd stayed for the season we'd be top half right now.He was clever enough with his release clauses wasn't he.
Compared to a few clubs our list is quite respectable.
