1066....Britain got taken by 12,000 men in small boats

And William was directly descended from Rollo, Duke of North man - Nor-man - Normandy
the Vikings tv series did a fantastic portrayal of Rollo. Sitting at the French Royal Court. The french with their polite table-manners and him behaving like a Wolf at the dinner table.
The french wife softened her revulsion from this barbarian after he had given her a good seeing-to. Eventually, Rollo strayed from the marriage bed, much like his descendants many centuries later.

There's liking a bit of rough and then there's a ravening Berserker. Bet she was a Millwall fan.

Vikings was bullshit, watchable until it started to include battalions of raging women streaming into battle and killing hoards of men.

No, never happened, women were at home, no such thing as a "shield maiden".

Rollo, his statue carved into Notre Dame cathedral, raided, got paid off and offered Dukeship to stop raiding the Normandy region.
