    Brighton Predictions

As mentioned, a win would put us right up there, it's a chance not to miss so a win it has to be.

A goal for DK would be good for morale

Ah but when is a direct run a dribble? I bring to your attention the brilliant goal by Van de Ven for the Spuds against Copenhagen...

    Playing styles

Pass and move is far more efficient than an individual trying to beat 3 defenders. Some dribbling types tend to get greedy and overdo it, Wilf Zaha being a prime example. This is not to say it can be very entertaining or not have its place, it is and does, but the modern game is about tight...

Crystal Palace vs. Brentford match thread

All round solid performance, interestingly the goals came from a long ball / throw precisely aimed into the box, with plenty of Palace shirts in waiting. And a clean sheet, good stuff.

Pino patrols a similar area on the pitch that Eze used to - he needs to take a leaf out of Eze's book, don't get involved in tackling, especially if you can't or your timing is wrong. Play to your strengths - pass move, pass, move.

Liverpool vs. Crystal Palace League Cup match thread

I had suggested in previous posts that the importance OG places on Mateta as the focal point of the attack had become somewhat predictable and one-dimensional, it is therefore very pleasing to see this new combination prove that Glasner can mix it up as necessary.

Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace match thread

Water finds its own level. We managed to ride the crest of a wave based on ability, effort, tactics and good timing, but things tend to settle down to the norm after a while, which for us means playing for mid-table security, with the added interest this time round of learning about Euro...

Yes they made sure that they paid up the full contribution to the referees benevolent fund nice and early and it's looking good for them - that said they'll probably bottle it with 3 games to go mwa ha ha!

Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace match thread

Precisely, we need to be more clinical across the park, it's all gone a little flat. As a poster above remarks, it's a game of fine margins - currently we're not quite "on it" and it shows.

Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace match thread

The bubble was burst when we lost our unbeaten run, we've been poor since then. It's up to Glasner to now instil some confidence and motivation in a pedestrian looking group.

Yes, I've hinted as much. It's predictable now with no surprises in approach.

Arsenal vs. Crystal Palace match thread

Some systems become predictable after a while, sometimes very quickly. At this point that's us with a misfiring Mateta as the focal point and Munoz flying down the wing - teams know what we are about now, and it's time for OG to show that he's capable of mixing it up.

    Arsenal Predictions.

Arsenal win. Too close to the Euro game for us, whereas they have options. JP runs himself into the ground every game, and his frustration is becoming noticeable in front of goal, he needs to chill. I hope I'm wrong and we do a smash and grab, set piece goal!

Is that the most humiliating defeat in the club's history?

Glasball is Royball with cherries on top.

Crystal Palace vs. AEK Larnaka match thread

Yes, I was thinking this myself: why don't our midfielders time their appearances on the edge of the box to pick up the occasional shooting opportunity? And it is as you say, the system isn't built for them to do this.

Is that the most humiliating defeat in the club's history?

My thoughts precisely. The og post use of the word "humiliating" is off target, like most of our efforts on goal... Credit to them for doing what they came to do. Perhaps Glasner underestimated them and overestimated our ability to break them down.
