C'mon Steve.......nail Ollie down before it's too late!

OK yes I am thinking of the 2022 summer when Viera came in. Nuno ES was apparently offered the job and a German manager turned us down before Viera accepted.

    Everton Predictions

Sneaky 0-1 win I predict. Wharton to finally get off the mark with a finesse shot from edge of the box. Games won and lost in the midfield and Wharton/Hughes simply too good. Plus Lerma / Kamada to come in and the quality doesn’t drop off toooo much. Also backing Pino to get better and better...

C'mon Steve.......nail Ollie down before it's too late!

Ollie was always due to take over in the summer of ‘24. That just brought it forward by a few months due to Roy’s poor health. We bought Munoz and Wharton in the January window in readiness for him and the formation he was going to play.

Yet he could have easily had about half a dozen goals already for us, he certainly gets in the positions to score. Hopefully once he gets off the mark we might see a few more from him I just wish he didn’t remind me of that ‘orrible little Wimbledon and Chelsea s*** Dennis Wise 🤣

...Munoz was unavailable. A lack of a goal threat from midfield is also a concern.Pino has not arrived with a creditable goal scoring record and Wharton for all his outstanding ability is not known for his goalscoring ability. Hughes has only scored a solitary goal for us in over 100 PL appearances.

True but being hyper critical if our midfield carried any goal threat things would be even better. Even a handful each would be a huge advantage.

...the back 3 and Kamada/ Devenny at least look solid even if they don’t carry the same threat. We have good options in central midfield, with Wharton the one with X factor to provide extra guile. The other key player in the system is Munoz, who dominates the right hand side and provides much...

    International Call Ups

...at the players not in it that could well make the world cup squad given an upturn in form /injury free run I think he may be making promises to those in his latest squad that he wont be able to keep . Wharton ,Bellingham , Grealish and Foden are all likely to give Tuchel a headache in the...

    International Call Ups

It’s a good point, keep them fresh for us, I’m just disappointed for Wharton and Mitchell who clearly deserve to be picked. It grates when you’ve got old has beens getting in the squad. Plus someone like Rashford who’s had so many chances to impress in the past

He is playing this season. He's doing ok - doesn't always start. He's between career ending injuries at present. May as well use him for that couple of months window.

    International Call Ups

Anderson did look good in the last internationals, so I get him starting over Wharton, I just can’t believe a player like Loftus-Cheek gets in after 7 years since his last cap and 2 years hardly playing for Milan

    How far can we go?

...He's only been the statistically best English left back for about three seasons so Tuchel may not have noticed. Midfield I can kind of understand. Wharton is just back. I don't want him risked anyway. Henderson has been doing ok but can't be considered for ninety minutes by the looks of things.

    International Call Ups

I also don't want Guehi playing ninety minutes in both. Against teams like Wales we should be trying players. It's a friendly and they're not that good. Jonny Williams probably still plays for them. What England should be doing is finding a left back and a proper back up striker. But let's watch...

    International Call Ups

I might be the only one, but I'm delighted Wharton and Mitchell haven't been called up. We have more than enough games this season as it is and I'd like them to concentrate their efforts on a proper team in Palace. I'm fed up with these international breaks every few weeks which often contain...

If I was picking a four man midfield I don't know if I'd start Surely. I don't think he likes being called that either.

    International Call Ups

Mitchell always feels like quite an "off radar" player to me, something usually reserved for work horse central midfielders like James McArthur or Michael Hughes. The kind of player that neutral fans barely know exist, but fans of the club know are pivotal. A shame though, maybe he needs pink...

    International Call Ups

Well he has left Bellingham out as well Wharton had some bad timing with injuries before England games. On this occasion I think it is understandable as Elliot Anderson did well. And with so many games coming up it's not bad timing to get a rest But agree with your best England midfield

    International Call Ups

Anderson is preferred over Wharton, but I wonder for how long. But Mitchell being constantly overlooked is baffling.
