Come on somebody had to set this thread up as the one to spurs is….😂🤣😂🤣

If Eze had gone there I would have been pissed. Somehow Ebbs going to Arsenal, I’m ok with. It is a massive step up (even though I hate saying it) and imagine how he will feel going in there after they let him go as a kid.

For us, he was injured and went missing but damn… when he was on it he was amazing. We got the FA cup and having paid £17 million for him a very nice profit that should see us get 2 players or more in.

Thanks Ebbs!

I shed a tear when Kenny Sansom and Ian Wright left for Arsenal, but I’m long passed any of that now, we’re palace, all the good ones leave in the end, just appreciate what they give you while they’re here.
But my overwhelming feeling is anyway, thank god it’s not Munoz, Eze is replaceable, not sure our bionic man down the right is

He's off to Barcelona at the end of the season......!

Well done to Steve for getting the fee we wanted. Perhaps we had a bit of luck that Arsenal had an injury but maybe their tactic all along was to wait for Spurs to show their hand and then match / beat it.

I think Steve has once again shown any potential buyers that we are not going to roll over, Liverpool will now have to get serious if they want Guehi.

At the same time Steve is also showing the current squad or any incoming that do well and you will get the big club move as long as the fee is fair. Both Olise and Eze improved at palace and got big money moves that must be a magnet to up and coming players we are looking at.

Or they could go to West Ham and disappear without trace.

Well said Badger.

If so, they were taking a big gamble unless thay and Parish had an understanding beforehand. It was the injury to Havertz and probably the poor performance against United combined with Liverpool and City's firepower that swung it
Arsenal will have been reluctant as he does not fit their system. If they played like us with him and Odegard either side of Gyokeres and, say, Saka and Lewis-Kelly as wing-backs with Rice and Zubamendi as the two pivots, it would be a more obvious move. At the moment, he will either be competing for a starting spot with Martinelli and Madueke in his less-favoured left-wing position or be the first sub off the bench, whilst Havertz is injured

If he is with four years left on his contract and no release clause, i will start the bidding at 100m, any takers.

Yup, and he's a confidence player. Look how Vieira destroyed him

My hopes and expectations of any Palace player are:

They work hard for the team and make an impact.

They help us win something.

If they are sold we get a good price for them.

On that basis Eze ticks all the boxes so he goes with regret but my best wishes.
Good summation but...from a 100% selfish attitude I'm still pig sick he's going because A. He's the player I've enjoyed watching more than anyone else for decades and B. He seems like such a good bloke it's been a pleasure having him at the club.
As regards Tottenham I don't believe he had any intention of ever going there and the media have made fools of themselves over the whole deal.

Spot on badger!! Especially the last bit about the spammers

Amen. Currently the one player in the team who is genuinely irreplaceable.

BTW, he did not make PFA team of the year possibly as there were no RBs!

As long as we insist on a 20% sell on clause like the big clubs always do the other way round. Also get one of their brightest youngest players on loan as part of the deal. Don’t just roll over.

£68M is a good price for a 27 year old player with 2 years left on his contract. His salary over his time with us wasn’t exorbitant and we won 2 trophies and gained best ever league place and points.

Time will tell if Arsenal get the same return as we’ve had.

I really loved watching going him play but now was the time to move on especially as Eze seemed of that opinion too.

Olise went with most fans blessing and Bayern were the beneficiaries. Another trophy this year and the narrative on Palace could change forever.

I have supported man and boy for 70 years ….. have seen good players come and go unfortunately EBS going is the last straw.
New players . . rubbish.
New directors .. rubbish.
New stadium .. rubbish .
Expectation is increased by success.
Premier League 12 years in a row. FA Cup and Community Shield, plus Europe.

Suddenly our best player is moving on, and this does not fit the picture.

I'm not sure at what point one becomes satisfied as a supporter. Maybe never.
For me, being on a similar level to the other big London clubs would be as good as you could hope for.

For Palace, that requires a much better stadium, which then provides a better chance of winning things. Then we get to keep our star players more often.
