Bilal El Khannouss

An option has been mentioned.

He gave 100% effort every time pulled on a Palace shirt (still think we’d of beaten Chelski in that semi final if he’d been allowed to play) - it’s a no brainier for me. Sell one player and invest in Two quality replacements. That’s how we evolve and improve as a club.

I’m still gutted Ebs is going to Spuds though!😩

Is El Khanouss a better option than Esse or Devenney? Wouldn’t the money we get for Eze be better spent on a back up striker and back up for Munoz

You think that we get through Christmas, with Sarr off at Afcon, with an attack of Esse, Devenny, Franca (if he can get fit), Mateta, Nketiah and a back up striker?

Personally, I don't think that would worry even the promoted sides.

Labelled an 'Attacking midfielder' but he not a goalscoring one.
I witnessed El Khannouss 'Plough his furrow' against Sheff Wed the other day and for me he never displayed the 'Wow' factor.
You could have said the same about Ebs on quite a few occasions last season though !

In terms of playing style and approach El Khanouss is not a natural replacement for Eze, but thereagain Sarr and Kamada were not natural replacements for Olise either.

Glasner referred to the difficulty of replacing Olise like for like, and spoke of using different 'profiles ' of players to replace Olise with Sarr being more direct and Kamada more 'technical ' in approach.

We may need different options to replace Eze too.

I haven't seen a great deal of El Khanouss, but have noted that he has good control of the ball, is adept at beating players and has a decent shot in his left foot.
If we do buy him , just like with Olise ideally you'd want a different profile of player for games when you want an alternative tactical approach to go more directly or use more pace.
Esse doesn't look quite ready and ideally I'd like us to buy/loan a quick and powerful option for the outside roles in the front 3.

If Eze doesn't feature today the obvious alternative is Devenny as he's been used in the role before and Esse may not be trusted to start yet.
I just wonder though if Glasner would consider using Sosa instead.
Experienced, naturally left sided with a tendency to take advanced positions and good crossing ability.
Would help Mitchell too in terms of tracking back to deal with Palmer/Neto/James.
Chelsea look to create overloads down that side regularly to expose the opposition.
