My reading of that wicket is that it's a 150 as a par score wicket.

I think aside from Atkinson, England bowled very poorly on that first day.

Unless that wicket flattens out after the heavy roller goes on it I think it's advantage India.

The Oval is always flat, which is why there isn't normally much for spinners.

The conditions were poor and the ball was moving in the air. There was bounce in the pitch and it's a bit green. However, the bounce is pretty true and there are no cracks - except the really poor bowling foot holes (which somehow seemed to be there before the match). In short, the pitch is fine. Probably slightly suits seam bowlers but disadvantages any spinners. No reason for not getting 300 +.
But yes, if England had bowled correctly, India would be nearly all out already.
