This outcome would likely lead to a number of woodies.I wonder if we’ll sign a few now that Woody has completed his 43% stake buyout.

I've seen some of the rumours around linked incoming players. Almost without exception my immediate thought has been: "who is this player going to dislodge from the first team in order to nail down a regular starting place?"I am getting increasingly concerned, not only at the lack of actual activity but even the lack of media rumours and links. Perhaps it's a good thing and we're getting better at keeping things secret but I doubt it.
Can only assume the delay is down to both the UEFA stuff and waiting for Johnson to come in and, hopefully, inject some cash. However, we know that players take a while to get used to Glasner's system. The later it gets, the more it affects our start.
Perhaps we believe that we'll keep the first XI together and therefore and new signings will have time to bed in. But, if would be really nice if we could get going and show some ambition.
We are currently ahead of only Fulham in the expenditure table so far this window:

We were very lucky that none of our four main CB's (inc Chalobah) got injured last season - we already knew Riad was out. It will be interesting to see if, and how well, Lerma and Ozoh are played back there in pre-seasonAnd even then we probably do need a little bit of depth in some positions (eg what do we do if Munoz, Mateta or two of the centre halves get injured? What would we do if all of these got injured?).

This I suspect would be an Eze replacement. I’d really hoped if Guehi goes this summer then we would keep Eze one more season. I think that would be manageable without too much impact on the squad
A right sided player who plays in Sarr's position and who would also be off to Afcon for a few weeks in the Winter
A replacement for Eze or JPM?
Who thought Devenny was at the right level before he started playing regularly last season albeit mainly off the bench?A replacement for Eze or JPM?
The Marc Guehi situation looks very smoke and mirrors atm. The Liverpool deal looks off the cards. Are Newcastle still interested? Him leaving on a free would be an opportunity missed.
On the mention of Ozoh I cant see him being part of the first team squad. He just isn't at the required level and I would be interested to see what happens with Esse and Franca and whether Glasner sees them as having a future in his plans.

As for Ozoh, he'd be down the pecking order as a DM but if Glasner thinks he can be a CB then he'll be in the 1st team squad..
IMO no. I'd like another proven CB in the squad. Both Lerma and Clyne are cover for other positions and in the case of Lerma a regular sub as a midfielder. If Wharton, Kamada or Hughes were out for any length of time then Lerma would be needed in that role. What if Munoz were out for a while? We got away with our limited resources (just) last season but with the additional European games - too risky to do it again this season. Will be interesting to see what Glasner does with some of the peripheral players namely.
Ahamada played RWB last night, and seemed good, very keen to press. Could he be the Munoz understudy?
And as you said, Glasner thought Ozoh was better suited to CB. Assuming MG stays, do we have enough CB cover with Lerma, Ozoh, Clyne and Riad (when/if fit)?
Spot on.
Clyne and Ward made important cameos in the back three last year and that helped us out enormously (eg the win against Brighton with 9 players). As you say Lerma was excellent. Ozoh didn't really get a sniff. Richards then both got fit for an extended period and was outstanding.
The less said about Holding the better.
So we had the bodies in hindsight but form, fitness, a January raid by Newcastle/Liverpool or a red card could have been a major headache.
Try reading that post again, before you live up to your username & look at the word 'cameo' Just a thought. What are you on about Ward only played 72 minutes last season & Clyne 481.
Both waste of time a youngster deserved those minutes.
Ozoh was out on loan.
It doesn't sign like progression he should have been looking at a Championship club.Another U21 goes out on loan, Tayo this time, Orient
Agreed. Was it him who went to Coventry & had a bad time?It doesn't sign like progression he should have been looking at a Championship club.
Has anybody ever had a good time in Coventry?Agreed. Was it him who went to Coventry & had a bad time?
His last club was Bradford and he did well but it's the same division. If I was him I would have been pushing for the next level.Agreed. Was it him who went to Coventry & had a bad time?
