England v India cricket.

Might still be a bit early for Archer but he'll probably be in since we were a little one-paced in the last game; Maybe Gus Atkinson as well, or Overton. We do need to mix up the attack though.

Feels like without Anderson and Broad, noone has stepped up to the plate. all support bowlers. we're constantly looking for a decent spinner (have been for years). We have Batsmen a plenty, but no decent bowling attack.

The slight worry is Archer and Atkinson are both just back from injury and one might breakdown.
True, it may just be Archer. Unfortunately, as we know, there is always a chance fast bowlers will get injured so another might breakdown while we're waiting for him to get fully fit.

Atkinson if fit would be my preference, some paper talk of a Bashir out Bethell in swap.

That's possible. Whatever becomes of Bashir in the future at the moment there is a an air of "we've got to have a spinner so let's put him in". That sounds more unkind than I mean to and he's still young.

Bashir is a victim of the "he will learn on the job" he is not even picked by Somerset.

England XI for third Test against India: Ben Duckett, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jamie Smith, Chris Woakes, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer, Shoaib Bashir. Bashir playing at the spinner bowlers graveyard.

Still think I'd have let Root handle the spinning and maybe brought in Bethel. Bashir will probably take about 12 wickets now.
