Anyone have an idea of when the new kit will be in the shop?

My grandchildren are keen to know.

It’s more of a trophy than the community shield. We beat teams fair and square in a proper competition so for me we should definitely celebrate it.

I’m not going to forget a great day at Wembley, especially as it was a year after the heartbreak of the fa cup final loss. Yes we can all joke about it being a major trophy when it’s clearly not, but at the time it meant a lot to the 33,000 that were there.
i wouldn’t buy a shirt, but I’ve got two mugs marking the occasion

The Community Shield doesnt try to be anything other than a pre season charity curtain raiser match between the league and FA Cup winners. You have to win a proper major tournament to qualify which we have! Unlike the short lived ZDS cup which lasted for only 3 seasons. I wont be jumping around my living room if we beat Liverpool in August but now we have won a proper compeition there is no need anymore to try to big up our ZDS cup win, which was nothing more than a 3rd rate competition behind the league cup. For me its adios ZDS.

I don’t think anyone bigs it up without their tongue firmly in their cheek, we all know what it was, doesn’t mean we can’t look back on it though with fond memories, it was an enjoyable day for a club that at the time wasn’t a regular visitor to Wembley
