Surprised to see Killian Phillips on the list of departures. Thought he was definitely one for the future

No mention of money but assuming we got something/loan fee last year as he is a decent player, if not Prem level. At 23 i think it was best if he moved on.There was an 'oligation to buy' attached to last year's Saint Mirren loan.
He did well against Senegal; enough to ensure he gets another chance at least - a good player who has done very well in Scotland; he won all of the individual awards for St Mirren who had a very decent season coming in 6th. I think he'll have a very decent career, but at 23 I agree he's not one for us.No mention of money but assuming we got something/loan fee last year as he is a decent player, if not Prem level. Notice he has just made his RoI debut.
Quite a few U23's released who were previously well regarded. It is a brutal business but we need to be realistic - Prem is a high bar. Perhaps we need to be more savvy with a few of them though - maybe loan them out whilst they still have more than a year left on their contract. If they do ok we could command a fee.
Plange has left after a £1m signing at the end of his 3 year contract. Whilst all his loans have been disappointing, a few were quite strange choices e.g. Carlisle when they were struggling in Div 1 was a hard ask for any striker.
The other Derby 'wonder kid' Malcolm Ebiowei who seems to have gone AWOL has a 5 year contract so 2 years left. There is a player in there somewhere so hopefully he can turn things around.
Rob Holding has 1 year left as does Ahamada who cost us £10m.
Ebiowei looked great the couple of times I saw him play. Certainly looked better than Franca at the time (who has since improved, to be fair). He's 21 now so running out of time if he's to make an impact at Palace. Perhaps a season on loan to the Championship? No mention of money but assuming we got something/loan fee last year as he is a decent player, if not Prem level. 10 million for a player who has now not started a league game anywhere since his final game for Stuttgart in January 2023: in which he was sent offEbiowei looked great the couple of times I saw him play. Must admit Ahamada has fallen off the radar. Thought we'd sold him! He's always looked a bit too lightweight.
that is pretty poor10 million for a player who has now not started a league game anywhere since his final game for Stuttgart in January 2023: in which he was sent off
Man U would have paid 80 mil.that is pretty poor

I think academy players are always better regarded by fans than is the reality - there's loads of examples amongst the current crop (Imray being the obvious one). Wells-Morrison is the same age as Wharton and never played above National League level, but I've seen some fans express surprise that he's been released...
Plange and Ebiowei have been very disappointing, but low risk options.
