Palace potentially denied entry to Europa League?

Is there any possibility UEFA have no decision to make and have no qualms at all? The newspapers have made this up out of fresh air and there's nothing even a conversation being had? Because at this time of year we often read how we've been speaking to Lionel Messi and then get angry when we don't sign him, but it turns out nobody was speaking to Lionel Messi.
this.

It all reminds me of somebody winning the lottery and having a knicker-fit that they won't get the payout cos their passport-photo is not in colour.

Our main concern, for the Europa League, will be a) to beat the first foreign team we face....and b) to ensure our Prem performances do not suffer from a tired or distracted squad. And both are a big concern for any team.

One solution could be for Textor to instead place either club in a blind trust for a year, thereby pausing any involvement or “influence” and allowing both Palace and Lyon to compete in the Europa League as planned.

Evangelos Marinakis has already placed Nottingham Forest in a blind trust in order to comply with UEFA rules, because he is the controlling shareholder of both Forest and Greek champions Olympiacos, who will both be in Europe next season.
I believe the deadline to do this has passed

It's a non-story. Media stirring sh*t up again. They've see Textor is majority Stakeholder, and made 1+1 = 20 without checking the facts. Uefa are probably just covering their asses, and going through due diligence.
Whose to say even if they're was a conflict, we'd get tossed out, and not Lyon?

Whichever team finished lower in their domestic league gets chucked out (us). But I agree that I think the story is BS. Wouldn't even be surprised if we never got confirmation and went out to kick our first ball of European football without any more substance to this story.

I think if its bad news we will hear very soon. We'll have to because UEFA will give our place to Forest and Forest's Conference League place to Brighton. Both those clubs will need to be told sooner rather than later. And it has to be Palace that makes way rather than Lyon because they finished higher in their domestic league than us.

Its been reported a few times today (GB News broke the story, Talksport, SSN, BBC as well as the Standard have run pieces (albeit small ones) on this meeting today between Palace and UEFA's Finance control auditors so I believe it is/has happened. I dont believe we'll be blocked from competing in the Europa League but I do believe Palace will need to show UEFA the proof that they need IE that Textor has no control at Palace and only holds 25% voting rights. Once they are satisfied I imagine it'll be business as usual and I'd imagine this will be dealt with quite swiftly.

I dont think for one minute this is a bullsh*t or made up story that some on here claim though. Its perfectly feasible that UEFA would seek clarity over Textor's involvement in Palace

There was talk of some kind of emergency meeting today.

It was announced by the French football federation in January that Lyon will now be relegated. If this is indeed the case there will be no issue.

But it’s hard to understand how the ownership is an issue anyway, you need look no further than the following who were all allowed to compete with no issue even though they have common ownership:

Red Bull Leipzig. Red Bull Salzburg
Man United. Nice
Man City. Girona

I am sure there must be others.

I bet Lyon fans are really happy with Textor.

It was a suspended relegation. If they can prove they have got their finances in order by this seasons end and the French league are satisfied they will not be relegated. They also have a deadline now the window is open to sell the necessary players that will balance their books. In other words Lyon are unlikely to be relegated.

Talk of selling Botafogo players to balance Lyon's books. I bet Botafogo love him too. Perhaps explains something of the O'Brien deal. Lyon will have been the main beneficiary of that - although I have no idea if we had a sell on clause. I presume we did.

Clearly there's an issue, even if it's a simple case of clarification.
The multi ownership model is deeply flawed and, I'm not saying it will happen, but would it be a major surprise if the authorities sought to make an example of Palace as an example to others?
It would certainly be easier to take on Palace than some state owned clubs who seem able to flout rules without consequences.
