Immigration

This has just reminded me of one of the funniest scenes in films. Remember ‘True Romance’ and the scene where the film director’s assistant gets pulled over by the police for speeding and his girlfriend refuses to put the large sample bag of cocaine in her bra, in her pants or in her purse and she waves her arm to slap the bag away and it explodes all over his face. Hilarious.

Another brilliant scene is Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken with the other mafia men in the trailer. ‘’Come again?’’ Brilliant script and acting. Underrated film slightly spoiled by Patricia Arquette not being up to the level of the rest of the cast.
Dennis Hopper "All Sicilians are...." brilliant.

It’s brilliant because you find yourself just listening to Hopper and his gutsy last fvck you but you’re laughing when Walken starts laughing.

It's an interesting film to use when you look at the finances. Chuck some big stars some big money, big budget - make a loss. No complaints - everyone goes onto bigger things. Rewarded for those losses. The entire box office take is similar to the film budget. That's surprising when you consider taxation isn't it.

Where do those figures come from? If true that’s 1200 more than in any of the previous 7 days! According to the official statistics.

Maybe they are the number who crossed on the ferries? Legally!

Oh sorry may not have been quite 1200 but not far off

All helped by French boats who escorted them

How do you explain what’s published on the government website?

Both the Telegraph report and those statistics cannot be true!

If you read to the end of the Telegraph report it explains why the French police are currently unable to intervene and the changes to both French, and German, law which are imminent, which will enable them to do so more effectively. This being as a consequence of the newly negotiated closer alignment.

Countries in the EU are currently unable to intervene when people attempt to reach a country outside the EU.

One of those great Brexit dividends we were promised.

What's the difference when they can't intervene in countries inside the EU either.

The government website hasn't been updated yet.

Easy, they arrived on 31/5 , your data only covers up to 30/5…. Your welcome, Next!.
Under International law we are entitled to return the boats to French waters, which, for whatever reason, we do not do.
Any country can and should take robust action against those living illegally in their country, the French have chosen not to do that, can’t think why 🤔. If it is a “serves you right for Brexit” attitude that shows how pathetic they are. Very rarely did the French accept returns, even when we were in the EU, contrary to the Dublin Convention but they didn’t give a s***.
When Sangatte was closed, we agreed to take a certain number of the inhabitants, in a deal with the French who claimed that no further camps would be allowed and they would deal with those left in France. We were in the EU at the time. I actually spent 3 days processing them in France, so believe it or not, I might be right on this

The British fishing boats used to assist the Border Force. They'd be the ones that Starmer sold all our fishing Rights for tuppence and put them out of work. (The Tories having done so previously)

Let me guess. 99.99% were young men ? and the TV did an interview with the only single mother who was on the dinghy ? probably paying her a few quid if she quoted the script they fed her ?

The UK are going to build more missile factories.
Maybe if we have any left, after selling to Saudi Arabia, we could fire them at small boats crossing the Channel ?

Defence. Against invaders. ? They're already here
