No FA Cup Parade After Final Home Game?

Bromley defending itself . . .

The issue is you have so many organisations involved in this, 2 councils, TFL, Met, the Crystal Palace Park Trust, distance & thats not taking into account the triangle locals I dont think it would have been feasible especially on a bank holiday weekend when the Met will be busy with the usual bank holiday fun stuff!

I've been out and busy so thought I'd sort the tickets out when I get home. Gone to do it but already sold out. Shame because I'm not travelling all the way up there to just see the bus and go home again. I imagine they'll miss out on a lot of fans being there that feel the same.
Yep all sold out hopefully they open more stands as I’m travelling from Norwich and booked a hotel too

A bit annoyed about this - was not aware that the event was going to be at SP and ticketed and when I found out this afternoon (about 4 pm) they were sold out - won’t be travelling up just to see the short bus trip down Whitehorse Lane.

Did I miss a club communication on this?

Its an absolute disgrace, I remember for the other cup final appearances the club had the parade route already sorted should we win,it was going through Croydon and down Wellesley road, finishing up at the town hall in Katherine st I think, this three local road parade is embarassing, who ever was responsible needs to re think the route or change jobs! The tottenham parade is currently on route and the area its going is impressive, large circle around tottenham, ours is so disappointing they might as well just have the party in the ground! I was at the cup final and was really looking forward to Mondays parade around Croydon, and that mayor parry has the cheek to say the council are supporting the route, ffs, biggest evet in our history and we are hiding away! The massive turn out Spurs are having makes it even worse, I just cant believe we are denying this great group of players their big moment going round the biggest populated Londo borough to recieve the adulation by going on a 5 min walk route! Steve Parish, you have done wonders here at cpfc,,but what on earth did you agree to this for? We have nearly 400k in Croydon alone, could have had 100k out celebrating,,now probably 20k! I wont be going unfortuately, tjhink it would demean the achievement! Still time to change the plan Steve!

It was only announced this morning!

I appreciate that - usually I get emails from the club regarding tickets etc but nothing on this so not sure how we were meant to know that tickets were available ?
Yes,its shocking after the great last weeks we enjoyed, i had to double take its not April 1, seeing the great achievement out with a whimper! I can just imagine the knuckle draggers saying we had 3 roads on our parade as we couldn"t fill a proper route! I know,i know, fcuk them , but it is a poor show !

Croydon Council: "A momentous day"... 2 min Parade down the road and around the ground? Nowhere near Crystal Palace or Beckenham etc. Whoever organised this needs sacking.
This looks like a lowkey opentop bus Parade. Disappointed that the Parade is not covering Crystal Palace Parade, Church Rd and the Triangle, Penge, Beckenham High St and Gipsy Hill.

Yes, we must be doing the shortest winners parade in fa cup history…..they could just let the handbrake off and let the bus roll down Whitehorse lane 🤣

Reminds me of going to away matches:- Stadium at the far end of an industrial estate, nowhere near the town.
The FA Cup Parade could be said to be a demonstration of treating the parade area almost as an industrial estate to which no one would go casually.

On Monday those who wish to see the open top bus will be kept in the area, with admission to the "works canteen" so they do not need to leave the estate. I wonder how many are being admitted to our ground as I have heard that when buying two tickets people were placed in different parts of the ground. The fact that no tickets for ground entry are now available indicates either a sell out or limitation of numbers. Be interesting to know how many do get in. Would have been nice to see the bus gong along North End.

Bromley Councils press release . . .

So Bromley were approached to use Crystal Palace Park, but there were too many local objections.
Rather conspicuous by their omission in the list of consulted parties was the CPCA (Crystal Palace Community Association) who have a history over many decades of stalling, and blocking any ideas of the Parks use for events.
I have no doubt the CPCA (or senior members of the group) were very vocal in their objections. I would think someone somewhere perhaps threatened legal action, which would have meant a temporary injunction being imposed to keep club celebrations away from CPP.

It is rather disappointing and deflating that the charabanc will not be undertaking a more protracted journey however I am reminded of the adage 'Half a loaf is better than no bread at all'.

One suspects that the 'Party at the park' will bring unbridled joy to the multitudes.

Would be very nice were the bus (or buses) to start their journeys at 10:30 from Croydon Town Hall on their way to the top of White Horse Lane for the official start at 13:00. The buses have to come from somewhere - just hope they donot show the Tottenham paint job.
