2025 FA Cup Final thread

Has there ever been a more fortunate player than Schlupp?

I read this morning that he has been awarded an FA Cup medal because of a 13 minute appearance v Stockport.

This on top of a Premier League medal for Leicester a decade ago in a season when he made just 4 appearances.

Nice work if you can get it, but good luck to him.
I might be incorrect, but does he not also get a SPL Champions medal for his stint at Celtic ?

I would be embarrassed to accept it.

There in meltdown, conspiracy theories all sorts.

I know I am biased but watching it back Hendo gets back into his area, I genuinely think he believes he is fine when swiping the ball. Haaland may have controlled the ball and scored but not certain and potentially defenders coming back. Anyway up the palace and we won the cup
Haalands touch, had he got it, would also have been wide. Henderson's gloves beat his boot by millimetres and the action directions are the same. Watch it carefully.

I think we should put this topic to bed. Yes maybe he touched the ball close to the line but the Officials gave City a penalty after when it was clearly not one. Apparently ITV pundits called it correctly and that has been backed up by film on YouTube. No mention at all about the five Yellow Cards for professional fouling to stop our breakaways between the 66 & 94 minute mark.

We have suffered so many incorrect calls helping the “big boys” over the years so it’s nice to get a bit of payback. Let’s move on, spoil the Scousers big day, check your passport and look forward to our European adventure. Azerbaijan anyone?

3 days later and it's finally starting to sink in. What an incredible day, I've watched the entire coverage twice now from the ITV and BBC. Both times the tension still got to me and it felt like City would score at any moment... But they didn't. Our defending was absolutely epic, there's so many recovery runs, blocks, last ditch tackles that I didn't quite appreciate when it was live.

All the fan reactions, interviews, analysis and reaction available on YouTube is feeding my appetite.

What a day for Palace fans, we've all witnessed something that we will never ever be able to replicate, our FIRST ever piece of silverware! Who knows what comes next but these are memories that will never be taken away from us.

I loved how Glasner summed it up in his post match press conference - something along the lines of -the best thing you can achieve as a player is to create these special memories for thousands of people. Well said .

To all the team and staff you've given us something truly special. Instant Palace legends in my eyes. Better stop here or I'll start crying again.

Someone was asking if the footage Mateta was filming would be available, it is, it's on the club website now & on FB . . .

At 4 mins 12 secs JP is inside the stand, about to climb the stairs to take him to the presentation gallery.
At the left of the frame you can see an arm, wearing a grey jacket, reach forward to take a photograph on a mobile. Here is that photo!20250517_184638 (002).webp

I had to travel on Sunday & quite frankly I was in no state to look for the full game video - where will I find it, any suggestions ?

When I get home next Saturday I am going to want to sit & relive as much of the whole thing as possible -

Its OK after some googling I just found it on You tube
BBC and ITV versions are also good as you get all the build up and reactions from the pundits, most of whom it's fairly obvious were wanting us to win 🙂

If anyone has any links for where this full coverage can be downloaded I'd be very grateful. It'd be nice to have these on file for rainy days 🙂

I'm only starting to come around. What a day. Was the only palace man in town but all the Liverpool and utd fans were supporting us. What a day. A birthday I will never forget. Still hard to believe we done it. Enjoy tonight all who is going!

Jason Cundy reckons it was a yellow - this is the first time I have ever agreed with him

Agreed - his post match BBC interview was quite telling. Added to which players on both sides didn't show any signs of reaction when the handball occurred. Everyone just sort of played on until play ended up back in Man City's half.

Exactly this - we were right in line and above the incident (front of 528) and no-one noticed anything plus none of the Man City players appealed - when the ball went to the other end in the next phase of play they were more interested in contesting the throw in. We watched both ITV and BBC coverage later that night (recorded both full programs) and not one of the commentators on either side commented on the incident when it happened - only during the delay for the VAR review when they were prompted.
Sick and tired of all the 'blatant hand ball comments'
