Brexit what Brexit

Starmer and his dastardly Government are an utter disgrace.
The discredited Starmer is once again going back on his promises to the people of this country by making us non-voting members of a two-tier European Union. Under this appalling sell out of a deal the UK will have to accept EU law on a host of measures from food standards to emissions trading.
He has also sacrificed UK fishing interests, handing over our seas to be plundered again.
😡 😡 😡 😡
Yeah….but at least we get to use the e-gates if we go to France etc 😡

Has anyone else noticed how many times today a government spokesman has insisted that this decision - to give away a chunk of our sovereignty - is a sovereign decision? Well yes, I suppose it is.....

Yup one of the most overrated issues by the media. It was not a big deal and never would be.

I frequently travel in and outside of Europe most countries have now increased security checks it's the price of travel these days. So you wait in a queue for an extra 10 minutes.

Hardly worth giving away our sovereignty.

Keir Starmer's capitulation to the EU is laid bare.

As his Ministers say, it is the first step. And they are right, it is the first step in a walk of shame back to the continent. It is a surrender summit. A Brexit betrayal. The cop-out conference that sells our hard-fought freedoms down the river.
Starmer is the closet Remainer who never quite got over his side losing almost 10 years ago.
He energetically campaigned for a second referendum with free movement of people.
😡 😡 😡

In the interests of my health I shall now refrain from participating in this debate as I am in a hissy fit, steaming like a cooked clam. My blood pressure must be highly elevated.
😡

The best judge is the stock market that increased by 70 points on the announcement. That for a change is fact not opinion.
This is a typical Remainer post. The stock market goes up and down on a regular basis. Pro-EU fanatics always try to tie anything positive that happens to the mysterious magic of the EU and anything negative to us leaving the price-rigging, protectionist, undemocratic racket that is the EU.

Half the time ours dont work in the UK, or take forever. Unless you travel at a silly time to Alicante on a saturday during school holidays, it doesnt take that long. If you have hold baggage you will have to wait for that anyway.

I am not particularly a remainer, the stock market has had far more up days this month than down. The Eu- Uk deal adds to G.D.P.

What is it about Brexit that makes people so irrational?
I'm perfectly rational thank you.

I am of the opinion that the United Kingdom should not be dictated to by an unelected, unaccountable and corrupt bunch of eurocrats based in brussels and strasbourg, like the rest of us who voted for Brexit.

Remember, a majority voted to leave the eu. so we could make our own laws, and not be subject to a non-British dictatorship, which that t*** Starmer is so desperate to return the country to?

Does that mean, by your metric, that the majority who voted for Brexit are irrational?

More like the minority who thinks the sun shines out of the arsehole of the eu are the irrational ones!

What is it about the elite that they don't get they lost the vote.

They spent nearly 5 years delaying it and now they are still trying to roll it back.

It's cute that you think Brexit benefited the working man.

That Man Utd owner and Brexit man, what a peasant

Yeah, our fisherman have to now land their catches in British ports instead of EU ones. Sellouts.

As stated by the erudite Jacob Rees-Mogg :

"The white flag is flying over Downing Street today as Sir Keir Starmer signs the document of unconditional surrender to the European Union ".

I am in total agreement with Jacob.
JRM, another blue collar talisman. All he wants is the best for the northern factory workers

Starmer has done well he did not compromise on our food standards yet got a US trade deal, and the alignment with the EU standards is just reality we have to anyway and it suits us.

A good start to resetting things with the EU anything that will restrain the shackles on food and trade is welcome.

Brexit was another revival of the post-imperial derangement of the British, that they are somehow superior and can dictate their own rules, barking on about sovereignity while in fact large chunks of the UK has been placed in foreign hands by the conservative party since 1983.

Well how does 'having our own cake and eating it' look now.

A bit of a joke, but for old times sake, Ms Van Leyden will let us tag along as long ss it does not mean re-admission, europe doesn't want that chaos again.

A red line of the UK free movement? Why?

Nohing has damaged the UK more than the end of it, the loss of key workers and the tripling of immigration.

'Nobody had a plan (immigration) about it after leaving the EU' - Chris Philp Tory minister.

Well they wouldn't, would they?

😎

This is beyond parady.

That’s one example!! I’m sure there are plenty that haven’t got money, like myself, that voted for Brexit. And they’ll also be plenty of people at opposite ends of the wealth spectrum that voted remain!!

It seems that a lot of people voted for Brexit as they have a Corporal Jones mentality, thinking we still have an empire, all foreigners are soft,by jingo they don't like it up 'em etc etc. Those times have faded away and we need to trade in order to eat.

It gets even better. It now appears that it's up to each country to decide if Brits can use their E gate. Way to go Starmer what a deal give away the family silver for a maybe.

I hardly think a few scottish sprats can be called the family silver, perhaps give them scotland and save on the welfare budget and drunk tanks.

It takes me 20 goes at slapping my passport down on the digital scanner before I can get back onto British land. Last time I was told by a female African staff member to do something I couldn’t understand. Eventually I understood she wanted me to get out of the booth and wait for the green light prompt again, all while people behind me are getting annoyed at 11:00pm.
