Wolves predictions

Talk about After the Lord Mayor's Show.

Wolves are now very good. But I can see an exhausted Palace clinging on for a draw and a record 50 points
Wolves have been defeated in their last 2 games.
I would not be surprised if our starting XI is somewhat different from that which started at Wembley.
Perhaps Ward will get a cameo appearance to enable him to receive a rapturous send-off.
I have in mind a draw.

i agree with giving Ward a day in the sun. He has been a towering hero for us.

Also, give a run-out to some younger Eagles in preparation for next August. A chance to prove themselves at the top level and see if they are worthy of becoming regular starters. And let the big boys enjoy their hangover from the benches.

Entirely depends how good we are at playing football while suffering from an extremely bad hangover. And that's just the players. On balance, Palace 2 (pints) Wolves 34 (goals).

Guehi spent the night in hospital with a suspected eye fracture, but fortunately it's only severe bruising
Wharton also spent the night in hospital undergoing tests for concussion.

I doubt either will play v Wolves and imagine that Lerma will replace Guehi and Wharton will partner Hughes.
I can also see Nketiah and perhaps Ward getting minutes.
1-1 is my forecast.

I also of the opinion that Lerma will replace Guehi but given Wharton's woes I am thinking that Hughes will partner Kamada or Devenny. I would not be surprised to see Nketiah starting in place of Mateta.

I can see Clyne and Ward both starting for similar reasons at the back, and Lerma/Hughes in midfield. Something like:

Turner or Henderson

Ward-Lacroix-Richards

Clyne-Cporha

Lerma-Hughes

Franca-Nketiah-Esse

My mistake - I meant Kamada to partner Hughes as I'm sure Wharton won't feature after the concussion tests

we still need to get Nketiah improving his scoring record. He was caught by the offside trap again at Wembley.

Devanney deserves a start, and he does, so he does. As does Esse. And a few other new-ish faces.

The loss of Olise hurt us last August. We need to hit the ground running this time.

After our unbelievable and historic achievement yesterday,a point against Wolves to allow us to accumulate our highest ever points total would be magnificent!!

1-1.
