Joel ward legend

For me he was one of a small handful of players that I thought hit the ground running when we went up to the Prem and was absolutely instrumental in the transition. Agree with all the sentiments that this guy deserves to be remembered for his service to Palace.

One of our best and loyal buys ever , saved us so many times with tackles goal line clearance's , will miss him and yes its a end of team that got us up , happy memoirs I hope were 2 or 3 up with 1 to 2 mins left of the fa cup , and bring him on ,wont be a dry eye in the house ,

Good luck Wardy you have earned a well deserved rest

And he scores a pen?

Chris123 - I am assuming you mean Joel's goal saving header against Watford in the play off final. Yes what a moment! Who would have thought he would still be with us.

If he doesn't get any more minutes this season, his last will have been in the backs to the wall win against Brighton. Not a bad way to sign off,

A calming influence, consistent performer, and one of the first names on the team sheet across most of the 13 seasons he has been with us.

Most of all, a wonderful team mate, person and a player you could easily get behind as a fan (even when he was having a bad game or run of games). Let's hope he rounds off his career with us with a history making win at the weekend and a proper chance to say goodbye at the end of the season.

He'll get brought on against Wolves so that he can get the fans' appreciation

What a career he has had at Palace, the ultimate professional. To think he recently came on and got us over the line against Brighton when we were down to 9 players!

A true professional. He has basically played himself half to death in terms of his career. Hard working and loyal, and played in whatever position he was asked without question. Plus a free pass to heaven!

Players like him are the foundation around which to build a team and a club. It’s a rare thing for a player to stay at a club for 13 years. The Wrights, Zahas, and Olises shine brightly for a time then move on but Wardie’s light will never grow dim. Thank you captain.

This is how I felt about James McArthur who is my 3rd favourite Palace player of all time (an odd choice I suspect!) I was gutted that he didn't have a testimonial (I appreciate why these don't happen) but one of a very select few I'd have bothered traveling for.

Does anyone know what he's going to do? He indicates that he's not saying goodbye, but see you later. Apologies if I've missed it, but can't recall any mention other than Mr P wishing him well in his next adventure.

A true legend.
The goal line clearance V Watford.
Enough said.

Amazing clearance in the final minute too.

An unbelievable servant to the club... my only slight negative is his ability to get distracted e.g. when he left Mata in the 2016 final, if he had stayed on the man he was marking they would never have equalised

The last link from the promotion side from the play-off. Has been a wonderful servant to the club, wish him all the very best and a huge thank you.

Interesting he says not farewell, just see you later. Are there plans ?
I'd hope so, but I think he possibly means that he'll be back at games in the future? It was a very emotional yet calm display from our Captain. It was so fitting that he came on against Brighton, took the armband from Guehi and did a tremendous job for those last 8 minutes. Absolute respect for his loyalty to us.
