Munoz

The timing of the Munoz deal was very important to the club in my opinion.

Trent Alexander-Arnold: How do Liverpool replace right-back?

Had we not signed him up I think TAA moving from Liverpool might have generated a bit of tabloid speculation. And maybe more.

Let's hope the new deal both takes - and keeps - DM off the table for the time being.
Conor Bradley (I think that's his name) has played well there and sometimes been preferred to Trent. Plus Curtis Jones can play there. The issue would be they seem to be quite injury prone.
An interesting one for Liverpool is Robertson and lack of options on the left. Robertson has not had the season he usually has. Ran out of steam by all accounts.
Liverpool might be looking for the left before the right.
I think buying Guehi will probably conclude their business with us. That has been going on for a while now and, I've heard Guehi's into it. Whether that's true or not is hard to say, but it rings true. It's not even just Van Dijk. They need a better squad for next season - where again they will be going for multiple competitions. They are not blessed with the biggest squad in the world - plus obviously some are aging, some are leaving and (not spoken about much) some aren't good enough (Darwin Nunez).

Signing a new contract does not necessarily mean he won't go - especially if a release clause has been added e.g. Olise. Man City have not been averse to signing older players e,g Gundogan and Kovačić. Let's hope a cup winning performance makes him even more attractive
As for Liverpool, I agree left back seems to be a priority but they could have money to spend as they did nothing of note this year and all the talk is that Nunes will be going so they will get something for him

They won't get much for 5 mil though.
