Manchester City XI: Ederson, Lewis, Dias, Gvardiol, O’Reilly, Kovacic, Nico, Gundogan, De Bruyne, McAtee, Marmoush.

Substitutes: Ortega, Grealish, Doku, Bernardo, Reis, Savinho, Nunes, Khusanov, Bobb.

Crystal Palace XI: Henderson, Richards, Lacroix, Lerma, Mitchell, Kamada, Wharton, Munoz, Eze, Sarr, Mateta.

Substitutes: Matthews, Ward, Matheus Franca, Clyne, Hughes, Chilwell, Devenny, Kporha.

I guess the only surprise is Kamada instead of Hughes. I would prefer Hughes but in OG we trust. I think we will miss Guehi's mobility and comfort on the ball today. I would certainly settle for a point and no injuries or suspensions.

Kamada again really

Lucky so many City players out
Agree 100%. This is a Hughes type game. Kamada did ok against Brighton, but Hughesy is clearly the stronger player. I guess Ollie is trying to up Kamada's confidence which is understandable but he still looks weak on and off the ball sometimes.

Although it's understandable that people have reservations about Kamada's selection, he's coming in off the back of his best performance so far ( v. Brighton ) and we have three games in the next seven days.

I'm sure Hughsie will get minutes asa well

Streams. Use a VPN is best, blast past all the pop ups and it'll run.

It goes up to 15 streams.

We don't know what was wrong with Hughes either. Maybe his illness means he isn't fit to start? Newcastle will be a more physical game, so it could also be OG deciding he'd rest him for then. As others have said, Kamada also finally had a reasonably good game so if he has any chance of making it perhaps he needs the chance to show he can build on that. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he were to score today.

To be fair, there’s been signs of improvement recently

Not really.

People are claiming he was better last game but the standard is so low for him just getting a few passes right would make him appear better.

We have much better options he should not be starting games unless it's about rotation which this is not.

We do have a good record when we play City at there ground this is the first one I will miss at that ground tickets are fairly easy to get if dont mind sitting with City fans lol

Yes really, still not great I know, but I’ve been slightly less distraught to see him coming on or starting than I have been all season recently

Give him the benefit and we can return to this discussion at half time 🤣

This is a real opportunity for Kamada, if he doesn’t grasp it you have to wonder if he will ever be consistent enough to be a starter.

I didn’t see enough from him to warrant starting today in the Brighton game but we continue to hope he’s better than the majority (me included), think he is.

Apparently, today is the first day of using something called 'automated offside technology' - will it be any better than VAR? We shall see.........

Kamada is a fantastic player, has been unlucky not to have a run in the side. Like Henderson, has absolutely proved us all wrong. Looking forward to seeing a full dynamic game again from him today.

Wow… so that’s what that looks like in writing 😂😂

Henderson in my view was always class and better that Johnstone but he had detractors because Johnstone was decent.

Kamada is not unlucky, he HAS had a run in the side and was total shite. A sub appearance with improvement, and a start with improvement, but it was a low bar. Hughes is much much better.
