The Politics of 'Climate-change'

If they really have jacked it in Araminta and Jasper will have to find a way to fill their time in. Maybe go back to blowing pheasants out of the air or whizzing down the Cresta run on the butler's chest.

Thanks, Just Stop Oil. Instead of using our own gas and oil we can import it from all those wonderfully green and ethical countries. Maybe Russia or Saudi or Iran, perhaps Venezuela - what's not to like? Thanks boys and girls and everybody else involved. Warms the heart - well not for old age pensioners, but I'm alright Jack. That's the spirit. True grit.

i heard a presenter on the radio, here in Ireland. Discussing how we can shame, or otherwise marginalize, so-called 'climate-deniers'. Reminds me of the brutal treatment of non-believers in Tyrannical theocracies.

Orwellian shyte.

But we never did keep the oil, those massive foreign owned giants export 80% of it anyway.

I still don't get how so many peasants are sucking off the oil execs because they've bought into their well planned disinformation campaign though. Silly.

Do you think the penny is beginning to drop !
It dropped several years ago, but unfortunately not with everyone. As you demonstrate.

Trying to assist car manufacturers through a recession outside of their own control is not to suggest the need to transition away from carbon based fuel to renewables isn’t still the priority.

Extended hybrids for 5 years is basically extending fossil fuel cars isn’t it. Hybrids have 30-40 miles on a battery so 10% less emissions on a tank.great help!!! I don’t think trump can be blamed for this, short sighted wishful thinking as that 5 years will be 10 years at this rate. If they had stuck to 2050 it will happen by then but thinking they can re invent the wheel is stupid!

You are demonstrating Trump like logic.

When most journeys done by hybrids are less than 40 miles none of those journeys create emissions. It’s only on longer journeys that the petrol engine gets used. So not perfect but still worthwhile.

Ding ding ding. Trump alert.

You couldn’t say ‘that’s not logical’ could you? You have really got serious TDS

It was your comment about not blaming Trump that was replied to!

For the umpteenth time there is no such thing as “TDS”. It’s an imaginary condition used by Trump and his supporters to try to deflect criticism. Whilst the way some in the US still swallow this bs remains obvious it’s shameful and pretty embarrassing to see it used here.

You carry on though. Such things always say more about those who use such nonsense than ever they do about their targets.

I don't know. This is a guess. but surely the above is boIIocks, for the following reason.?

If you only did short journeys on a hybrid, then the batteries would just go flat. At some point the IC engine has to cut-in to recharge the batteries, even if it is not actually used to propel the car. Unless you have to re-charge hybrids from the mains, which rather defeats the object.

But in general the hybrid is the much better option. But a really expensive one, nonetheless.

Good news for us petrol-heads yesterday, when the price of Brent Crude fell very low. I thought we were running out of oil ? I think it's a bluff.
