Fulham v CPFC FA Cup Thread

I thought Guehi was worryingly articulate in his post match interview. He demonstrated real polish and leadership skills. Another one we’ll do well to hold on to. 😟
Unless we win the Cup and he is happy to extend with us playing in the Europa league then we surely want to sell him in the summer. We can't afford to lose him for nothing

Near perfect day as a Palace fan seeing us win in that way and then Brighton lose on penalties.

With Nketiah scoring and Kamada having an assist, whilst Lerma played so well and Hughes coming back… our depth is looking very good.

Yes agree near perfect day. Three excellent goals and solid defence again. Knocking on heaven’s door here. Also if I was not born and bred Palace I would choose Fulham as the best place to watch football in London, lovely stadium and riverside setting is glorious.

However minor gripes.. colleagues have already covered the diving by Muniz and pettiness of Silva but how come they stopped away supporters from bringing flags and then issued every home supporter with one. Are flags dangerous or not perhaps just south london ones?). Thank goodness they didn’t have cause to use them after the prematch but our balloons were still pretty impressive!

Second what was the PA on about Fulham being London’s oldest club for, just to disrespect Palace and our well researched heritage back to the Crystal Palace staff cricket team in 1860s? Seems like no tricks missed to load dice in Fulham’s favour.

And then of course the minor issue of Daren England getting the referee gig, how many yellow cards was that for the Fulham fouls on Eze etc v the three harsh yellows for Wharton, Richard and Lacroix? Darren please bear in mind that when you play advantage for outrageous physical challenges like the one on Munoz that doesn’t mean you should not come back with a yellow after the event.

Nice day despite all that! Proud to be Palace

Ah in fairness Wharton should have gotten a second yellow and walked.

Jack Hinshelwood missed their first penalty, thank you grandson of Doris, made me feel old and young again at the same time - it was Southgate-like in its ineptitude. And Mitchell had a stormer. Silverware and Europe beckon. COYP 🙂

Special props to Munoz and Lerma who had just come off two tough games in South America, in the second of whicy Colombia gave up a 2 goal lead which, if they had held on, would have left them very well placed to make the World Cup
It is a shame that Hughes is not available for the next two games as Lerma could probably do with a break before Brighton. Maybe Glasner will start Kamada as it is Southampton and he put in a good shift Saturday

Hughes is only suspended for one more game (misses the Southampton match on Wednesday) and then returns against Brighton. I understand he was ill yesterday, so hopefully will be fired up for next weekend’s ‘battle’

Weathered that first 20 minutes, then when Lerma crashed the one off the bar that was the warning sign that we were getting into the game. When Eze hit the opener the ball had loads to do, I couldn’t believe the amount of power there was in the strike. If ever a goal deserved to win a game that was it!

The finish was very fine indeed, although I'd say Eze tries this too often and most times without the success of yesterday. I was impressed by him not soon after passing an accurate left footed ball for Sarr to nod home - that was quite simple, precise, and classy.

What a great game and a fantastic result.

I became hooked on the Eagles in the early 90s and for me this current team captures that spirit and magic more than any other side since

I’ll get to games when usually when we get to the Midlands and further north as long as there are tickets when it gets to my window.

I hope to be making two trips to Wembley ! Love this current Team !

Sarr did brilliant in getting in front of the defender to steer the header home.

It's quite ironic to issue your fans with thousands of white flags before getting stuffed by 3 goals.

Brilliant performance. Resilient for 30 minutes, then the Eze I thought had disappeared pops up with a world class goal & assist.
What impresses me the most is the team spirit, the togetherness , the structure without the ball & the front 3 have gelled.
Even Kamala looks settled & knows his role.
Special praise to Sarr, he has become the all round player whether in attack , tracking back or defending.
Would like Preston in the semi, however this team does not seem to fear anyone so whoever it is bring it on.
Hopefully 3rd time lucky!

What a great day and well played Palace!
I have been supporting since the mid 60's and right now this is as much fun as can remember albeit there have been some very memorable moments along the way.
Brighton losing as well along with Silva's miserable face - wonderful Saturday.
Thank you everyone at CPFC!!
