It does seem that way. Glasner did say at the start of the window that we have identified the two players we wanted and it was a case of getting them in. I suspect Doak was more a "We'll test the water, just in case Liverpool are willing to let him go for our kind of fee" attempt but Esse was always the right-sided attacking target that the club expected they'd end up with.
I'm assuming that Diouf is the LWB the club really want and that there aren't any others available at our kind of fee that we want. It's interesting that we've waited till now to go back in for him - have the club been told there might be sufficient wiggle room in Prague's valuation to have another go?
