VAR in Leeds game

I had to create a topic because I’m astounded. Watching Leeds/Tottenham. The SAME tackle Mateta done from a Leeds player on a Spurs player and 4 minutes of VAR review and no card.

It was nothing like the Mateta tackle, it was far worse

Fair point. They also took 4 minutes over it where they couldn’t wait to send Mateta off. I can’t believe the inconsistency of our main striker having a 3 game ban vs not even a yellow.

It stands out more to me because it’s against Tottenham as well. It’s such a stark contrast just a week apart. Not even blaming Leeds or the player or wanting him sent off. Just why was ours?

It's almost as if the ref's don't know what the f*** they're doing!

I guess this was some type of karma for spurs but it just shows the absurdity of the Mateta decision.

VAR can't make the Mateta red card decision then decide the Leeds challenge was not a red card. I agree it was much worse.

The inconsistency is madness.

There is just a horrible wrongness to VAR that's infuriating. Bogle's tackle was a lot worse than Mateta's, but the spazoids in the VAR room used their collective brain cell to decide otherwise.

As others have said it is the inconsistency that is infuriating. You can understand to an extent for the ref who is watching a game in real time but not for VAR. For me JPM can’t really have any complaints about the red last week and today’s tackle was as bad if not worse. All the comments I’ve seen suggested it should be a red card
