Fan Protest before the Hull Match?

If I am reading the below correctly you don't need a season ticket + to share your seat with a member. You just need the person to stop being cheap and buy a £25 membership to receive your seat.

"Season Ticket Holders are only allowed to share their Season Ticket with another paid Member who is part of their Friends and Family list."

Exactly and it doesnt fall on the seller to buy the membership on the buyers behalf. This was mentioned in the HF protest text. If they dont like "tourist fans" the need to buy a membership would deter such fans. So they are arguing with themselves really.

2. Is nonsense. We’ve been forced to play the Premier League anthem since we got promoted. That’s been in place for more than a decade, and for more than 50% of the time the HF has existed?
The premier league anthem is played when the players line up, handshake's etc... The tannoy in the stadium goes through the teams during this. After that, there shouldn't be anything else. But at the moment there is. It drowns out the crowd when we should be creating an atmosphere ourselves within the stadium.

Personally, I don't like it - I would prefer the crowd to start singing and building an atmosphere organically. You (and others) might have a different opinion, and that's ok.

FYI - the HF was founded in 2005.

FYI - I bought a junior membership for my son for £25 to receive my brothers ticket when he is not around. I am emailed his ticket, which I could forward on to anyone to download to their phone - membership or not. You only need a membership to receive the ticket. You can resell it, pass it on, do whatever you want with it after that - opening the option for resale to "tourists"

I’m really confused - but that’s easy… if you’re asking me how my match day entertainment has changed - it hasn’t. I get to the ground, have a beer, pie and wee!!! Get to my seat 10 minutes before and sing glad over.. halftime I have another wee, talk shite about the football I’ve seen and then watch the second half. Whistle goes and I leave - Taylor Swift playing ?! Well done you I don’t know her songs!!!
If the protest is about getting the self entitled HF back, then will someone just say that is what the protest is about!!! Ffs
Do you like music in the background when you are having a wee and who should decide who chooses that the club or the HF?

A well written, researched and tough read. This article sums up the feeling for many fans at Palace.

If I wasn't on holiday, I'd be joining the protest. We've had a unique identity and something special for the past 20 years. The club seem happy to let it fade away in favour of corporatisation. This isn't about results on the pitch, it's far bigger than that.

The only people who can stop the current decline in Selhurst Park is us, the fans.

There are many on here who were happy to see the back of the HF and what they were trying to achieve. If you're one of those who are now happily sitting in a silent stadium, the protest isn't for you. If however, you're dismayed at what we becoming as a club, you should join.
You could rephrase your post by asking us who join decide on the entertainment, music, rules around displays, pyrotechnics in the stadium etc? It has to be the club because they have regulations and health and safety laws to meet.

The HF are one of the interest groups at the club, not the only one. I dont believe any particular group should be given a higher importance than others and be allowed to call all the shots because that isnt inclusive.

I read the club were looking to freshen -up the pre match music and introduce a song the whole stadium can get behind, like other clubs do. What is wrong with this as an idea if all the fans would get a say on the song?

I witnessed the HF objecting to and telling another group to take down their Palace flag in the vicinity of Block E. This was unacceptable and just one example of one group thinking they should control and decide what goes on.

Did the HF take their opportunities to sit down with the club and raise their concerns? They have a rep on the Fan Advisory Board. All the minutes are displayed on the club website for us all to see.

Some of this might go back to the trouble between the HF and another group of Palace fans before/ during the away game at Strasbourg. I heard other fans were caught up in this including some who were affected by pepper spray and others who witnessed one Palace fan being set upon by 60 others in the toilet.

The HF should come back and do the things they do well and drop all the other stuff.

Not particularly relevant but one thing that p1sses me off, living in the north east I can’t get to home games anyway but for several years I have been going to Newcastle away, until two seasons ago the only PL team anywhere near, cheering the team on, usually in the winter freezing cold and windy sitting up in the gods, with plenty of empty seats in the away end, usually watching us get hammered, and for that one ticket I have had to fork out £25 for membership. The same as anyone who wants to buy more frequent tickets as a “tourist” at Selhurst.
