Patrick Stewart

He hadn't been too busy lately. The last thing I remember was him ripping into James Corden. I hope James Corden has an alibi.

I am a huge fan of Patrick, I loved him in Star Trek he combined masculinity with empathy, unlike Kirk he wasn't afraid to cry but he could also mix it in a fight.

He first love was the stage and he did loads of Shakespeare and Dickens, he and Sir Ian McKellen became good friends and worked together both on stage and screen to great acclaim.

Earlie this year I listen to his biography narrated by himself, definitely one to read or listen to. He had a tough Yorkshire upbringing but by all accounts he seems a pretty decent guy.

Oddly Roddenberry never wanted him for Picard but was overruled and their relationship wasn't great , even after the show aired and his performance got rave reviews.

I'm still in mourning today. I don't normally get emotional about people I've never met so he is one af a select few.

Rip Captain, you bought a lot of happiness to a lot of people. It's time for your next journey to the final frontier, "engage".
