Wilf left us for supposedly bigger and better things. He floundered whilst we went from strength to strength and won trophies.

AJ did come back but hardly played. Sean Derry did really well when he came back.
Plus, Wilf did brilliantly the last time he came back. He was maybe our best buy ever @ £5m was it?

Yes, but that was a few years ago and he's not exactly been playing for top clubs in the PL since he left.
Sure, there would be a big cheer if he appeared, but I can't help thinking the cheers would be replaced by groans after he's sat on the pitch waving his arms about a few times.
