I would appoint Michael Carrick once he is available.

Tactically he is not very good and has relied on star quality rather than any serious game plan . His problem is Utd have little star quality but a group of players that look like they would get anyone the sack , he turns up every game hoping his players are in a good mood ,basically he may as well not be there .

If he had any bollocks he would have walked away by now ,not for me

Like all failing managers - waiting to get the chop and his contract paid up !

Not a chance. He may be a good bloke but his managerial skills are akin to a fart turning into a sloppy turd in one's y-fronts.
He starts well enough but it all turns to s***.
He may know the premiership but does he know the Premier league?

I think he'd do a perfectly good job under normal circumstances, but to get him fresh from seeing his dream job at a much bigger club go painfully sour....

He's only human. He'd surely be exhausted or dispirited. He'd also be stepping down to us, and that almost never ends up well for us

Not what we need. We need somebody with experience and who has ready made tactics to get us organised and difficult to beat.
Agree, Carrick is not the answer, as much as I not warming to the fact that Dyche would the obvious choice. Kieran McKenna and Victor Matos (Swansea)in my eyes would be massive mistakes. Personally I think Dyche football style would be a step back
As for Thomas Franks ! I believe he faced the same issues at Spurs that Carrick is facing at Utd player power. Franks has had time to recharge and wants to prove people wrong, but all said and done Premiership life is the key to all managers in this league new managers have basically got to hit the road running, I would like to see sage change a few things, given a little bit more time but On that note if he doesn’t improve then Franks would be my choice. (Just my opinion)

The prices Oddschecker are offering look like someone there has got a sense of humour. They include:

Arne Slot. 16/1
Mauricio Pochettino. 25/1
Sam Allardyce. 33/1
Julien Nagelsmann. 50/1

He is honest and good. Knows the Premiership. Better than anyone else including Howe.
Knows how to lose in the Premiership. As with Frank Lampard the only success Carrick has had as a manager is in the Championship.
He had a good run for half a season last year. This year (with the same players and a couple of additions) he has proved he cant keep that going. The players there dont respect him. That one alarm bell alone would turn me off.
IF we sacked Sage (and I'd personally give him a bit longer) I would reluctantly go for Dyche or Frank. Experienced and pragmatic managers that would get us back to being hard to beat again.
