Where do we go from here?

The way forward is to play effective football capable of obtaining results in the Premier League
The evidence would suggest that this is not possible under Sage, even if it's attractive in spells.
I can only think of Pep's team who pushed as many players forward and succeeded, and they had world class players who dominated possession and pinned teams in their own half.

Being effective for clubs our size can be achieved in different ways.

Under Pulis it meant 4 solid defenders, 2 workhorse midfielders, no fannying it around at the back, Jerome who had the pace and strength to run the channels for long passes supported by the pace and flair of Bolassie and Puncheon.
All told an effective unit capable of punching above it's weight.

Under Roy it meant minimising gaps in our defensive third, with our players compact leaving few places for the opposition to exploit.
Again, largely effective even if not the most attractive to watch.

Under Glasner it was mostly a defensive formation which could be devastatingly effective in transition .

What these managers all had in common was a solid foundation with players knowing their exact roles, and in the main executing them well.

Under Sage we continually leave our back 3 exposed either down the sides or directly in front of them with no protection.
It's not efficient, lacks discipline and we don't have the players to execute what Sage is trying to achieve.
Completely agree. I also think that Sage looks hopeless on the touchline, sad and dejected and fat. Hard to imagine him rousing the players although I did see one good team talk with Lens before he joined us. Unfortunately, he has had a ten games to get things better and it’s getting worse. Hopefully we will replace him soon. Alas. Nobody likes to chop and change but this looks terminal.

Sad, dejected and fat - like an over 40's disco.

Sorry but we need full commitment, you have to live in a basement flat in South Norwood otherwise the job goes to Dyche 🤣
Will consider if flat in Beckenham close to Nero coffeee shop (where Damien D. used to enjoy his cappuccino). But there ought to be somebody in the club that could convince Sage that his defending approach is a complete mess...

The problem lies in midfield. Wharton is off his game because he is being asked to tackle and block runs. Kamada is also better going forward. Timber should play on front of the back three, or Doucoure if he is ever on the pitch. We still need a strong athlete in there.

The thing is, this makes sense to a lot of people.. but it isn't done... what are we missing as to why the coaching set up don't see this.

My days of 'Discos' are well and truly in the distant past.
The days of homing in to 'Belles of the ball', some of whom used to sashay about the place akin to catwalk models.
You must have been frequenting Annabels in Mayfair with that description.
I was more Cat's Whiskers in Streatham.

I was a good disco dancer and also fleet of foot . Won a holiday comp and got a free 5 day holiday . So leave disco out of it . I still get my leg up halfway and spin good after 7 pints. Ok the spinning maybe mixed with alcohol level and trying to stand up

I frequented a vast array of establishments, lubricating my larynx and gyrating my hips in hot pursuit of pulchritudinous members of the 'Fairer sex'.There really were some adorable figures of divine femininity.

Regarding the internal review on Hobbs......

Good - about time!
Hopefully due diligence will prevail, and change in the management team happens here (Hobbs) and not with Sage (at least for the time being anyway).

Last night I received a message from an avid supporter of W.Ham.
His view was that we have only played 8 PL games, are not cut-adrift, the manager is new to the PL and some key players have been unavailable. He cannot comprehend the 'Noise' concerning the future of Pierre Sage.
I have not yet replied to his message, been a tad busy on the political front !
