Take a step back, peruse that squad, and tell me it's not one of the worst in the last 10 years. Absolutely awful and Parish and Co really have a lot to answer for. We can only hope that poor Pierre Sage means business and the players step up to the plate.

We have had much worse squads in the last 10 years. The first couple of years in the premier league was full of players that wouldn't have made it into any of the other premier league teams. Then the year with Cahill was pretty abject. You can talk about the character and desire being better, and that was true, otherwise we would have been relegated. But the individual squad members' skills are much better now. The possible exception is at CB.

Yes it's a crime we've not picked up like for like replacements for Olise, Eze and Guehi. Or that we didn't keep them or extend their contracts.

Sigh. Such a shame for Daichi being forced to play back there where’s he’s ineffective after being so good at 10 recently. In saying that, excited to see a full game from McNeill. Let’s go palace, big performance needed !

He wont be poor in a week or two

McNeil i think will play CM, not Kamada

Khalili retains his place. The kid must be pulling up trees left right and centre in training or something.

Christ knows he can't be keeping the shirt based on his performances in games, bless him.

I agree. We’ve had some players that have appeared regularly and stunk the place out. What we did have though was at least one leader on the pitch, whereas we now have none. I’d take the armband off Wharton and give it to anyone else. He’s not a leader and the weight of the armband is hanging too heavily at the moment.

You’re Sage and you look at your bench after 65 minutes as we are losing 1-0 for a game changer!!!

You’ve got the petulant star Sarr and that is it !!!

Glasner basically said the same when he was with us and the board have not done anything meaningful.

Let’s hope the starting 11 can do the biz 🤞🏻

That's an interesting call which may be right as that's where McNeil has been used recently in his fleeting appearances.

I have to say I find it bizarre that he could be used there when an authentic central midfield option in Hughes is available.
Time will tell.

How is more or less anyone though? I'd say Khalaili is more or less the squad average. He's had about 2 decent games out of 7. Only Kamada has been consistent. Amongst the rest, it's one or two good games like Khalaili. All I'd wonder here is how bad is Mingueza? I do wonder if some players don't train that well but do play well. Clutching at straws really.

So ineffective we won two major trophies, the only two in the clubs history, with him playing that position

You're probably right.
Jesus. Has it come to this?! ☹️ Two good games in seven and you're in!

McNeil feels a more natural wing back for our system than either we use. I'm not saying drop Mitchell but he'll also need a rest. McNeil right wing back though? That's where he seems to be suited for. Would he be worse than Khalaili?
