The Aarons article which suggests that
- Parish was unhappy about Canvot's omission earlier in the season
- Parish was unhappy about the Wharton substitution v Ioswich
- Sage didn't get the players he wanted in the window creating tensions with Parish
- Sage has been informed that things must improve or he's out

It strikes me as informed gossip which may not tell the full story, but gives a flavour of leaks from the club.
It doesn't look like a happy or positive relationship and it will take a remarkable turnaround for Sage to remain in post.

All strikes me as a very harsh reality check for Sage.

Welcome to the PL 😵

He is almost in last chance saloon. One thing Roy knew was that the first job is to stop conceding goals. Then think about scoring. I’m not sure Sage gets it. We’ve been opened up every game apart from Leeds. Why not start with Hughes and Chilwell to steady the ship?

Actually Roy said himself this is a myth and the first thing he does is sort out the attack

We are all agreed we need to see a big improvement in performance not a little . But the players need to up there game mainly in the thinking area . No bad passing no bad positioning move and work for each other .
Sadly this is something that sage cant influence once there on the pitch , yes shout at them but he cant do anything other than that . Take them off , we only have 5 subs .

Sage is in 'Mute' mode when the game is in process. Just stands in the technical area motionless, not providing any direction or encouragement at all, he could be mistaken for a statue.

This plays into my thoughts of organisation and instruction - at times it looks like a free for all with no structure or plan or identity, a lack of leadership on and off the pitch.

A stat that isnt banded about, Sage has the most points from conceding the first goal in the Premier this season. He is low on the rest of stats, top of at least one.

Of course he can. In game management is one of the most important parts of a manager’s job. Ok he can’t pass the ball for the players but he can and should be making positional changes, altering tactics, giving players instructions, making subs etc. Really good managers are great at changing things during a match to get results.

Poor Sage, it must be a shock to him to see the tactical plan that served him so well in France fail so miserably in the Premiership. Back to the drawing board!

It could be argued he's better at in-game management than setting the team up right in the first place given we've repeatedly improved in the second half after adjustments have been made. Maybe planning and preparation is the issue?

And if the players fail the basics and dont follow instructions. He can change tactics as many times as he likes . Players dont do it you lose still . Unless he plays 10 man defence thats the only way he can force change
