Lyon away - Europa league

No, and that's one very good argument (amongst many others) for sticking with Sage.

What might change if we did get a different manager, though, is the tactics. I feel like the same players would have better chance of defending well in a different formation and/or a more conservative approach.

Again, I'm all for giving Sage plenty of time and support. He is responsible for his own tactics, though, and the risks he gets the team to take.
It's a catch 22 different manager stronger defence no attack or stick stronger attack weaker defence. Just remember we dont have the luxury of both

Agreed, but do we actually have a strong attack? We've failed to score in three of our six league games and have a negative goal difference.

I think what we are weighing up is whether the current approach will eventually see us scoring more regularly than we used to, or would do if we took less risks.

I wouldn't say the attacking part of the tactics is actually working well at the moment. It just seems to have the potential to.

I am going to drink a whole bottle of champagne on Sunday before the Brighton game so I am suitably happy and resigned to the outcome. Anything positive will be dreamy!
Stay positive its my birthday that day . Having homemade luxury fish pie , champagne and wine After the game . but will have a tipple or 2 during . Already put the screen protector on my tele if we lose 🥳😍

Happy birthday in advance! Sounds like a great plan! If my doctor asks me, I will say Palace drove me to drink! 😂

I think he deserves time because he’s had a bit of a mess to sort out, players leaving(two of our best) and nine new players coming in with a s*** pre season because of the World Cup and the ludicrous Como cup, he’s had to experiment as he’s going along in competitive games

The galling thing is that had we still the services of Guehi and Lacroix, we wouldn't be far off a top six team. That these two left for a combined £70m makes it all the more annoying. Are we really saying that the more attractive offensive play was funded by these sales?

No I don’t think that’s what we’re saying, I think we’re saying that Disasi and Tomiyaso are not a patch on Guehi and LaCroix

Personally think we are going through a transition period when we had possibly the best Palace team ever with Eze, Olise, Guehi, Mateta etc firing on all cylinders at the back end of the 2023-2024 season. We were absolutely firing there and if we had kept that squad with Olise who knows what might of happened. In fact we won the FA Cup without him but we might of done serious damage in the league. Looking at that form we have done well to keep it all together as the likes of Eze, Guehi, Mateta might well of shot off early. Our top players are always going to leave. Now we need to regroup under a new manager and see if we can reach those heady heights.

Wharton captain isnt a issue your making it one , who would you have .

He got sacked by Textor you know that all honest guy who knows better , but he wanted his choice .
He turned Lyon around and got sacked winning games ask there fans . He is better than FDB by a mile so bad comparison really .
But agree with rest you said , im happy to stick with him until Xmas now . And has alot of people said he has only had 5 mins with the squad since joining , which is completely different to last year's team

Nonsense.

How is Wharton who is not even performing well or that experienced captain material plus he will be gone end of this season if someone comes in for him.

So what if Tex sacked him Tex was the driven factor for us getting Glaz.

Turned them around that French league is Micky Mouse one a team like Lyon should be right near the top.

Look at FDB CV it's far superior to claim otherwise is someone who is delusional and I don't rate either of these managers they are not Premier league quality fine in the subpar leagues.

Sage has had plenty of time now he keeps choosing to change things player wise and it doesn't look like there is a proper system in place which is why the players do not appear to know what they are doing (Many of these people had been at the club so it's not like its all new Mitchell/Richards/Canvot all played together but look all over the place Kamada/Wharton had paired up before but massive gaps in midfield now)

We need to play a different style to suit Larsen which we are not doing it's making him look like a donkey which i don't believe he is it's not using his strengths (JP can play this way and will look much better in the system)

Christmas is a lot of games away we could be out of Europa by then.

Here begins a history lesson dutch lge was ranked 12th in Europe , when he won the lge makes them about 1st division standard . French lge ranked 5th .
He was sacked by Milan less than a year , sacked by us , sacked by atlanta utd MSL team , sacked by dutch national team less than a year , works in that massive pro lge now , which is 2nd division standard. And you say I'm delusional , so Sage turned 2 teams around in a lge thats is ranked 7 places better than FDB time at Ajax .
