Crystal Palace vs. Nottingham Forest match thread

Sounds like Sky had Khalaili as the second goalscorer whilst Palace were VERY speedy to tweet that Lerma had scored, possibly because the ball had gone in off Khalaili's elbow and was a bit contentious? If Palace had acknowledged that Khalaili had scored they'd have been acknowledging a handball. Well done Palace social media team for the quick Derren Brown act.
Watched this back now. Khalaili falling backwards and arm didn't change position. If that was even looked at for handball then the ref needs glasses.

I'm sorry, but on what grounds would you do
this ? Sage has had hardly any time with the squad, we lost our best two defenders last season, we don't have like for like replacements and we've had one of our best players in a major sulk. We have to give him time. The consensus on here is that we're a bit more gung ho and less tight at the back and in general fans appear to like that approach. We've got 7 points from 6 games and two cup wins. It's certainly not grounds for even considering the sack, let alone pulling the trigger
I agree - Parish has let Sage down..!! Everyone can see defence is our problem - you cannot replace Guehi and Lacroix with two loanees.

We needed and still need at least one real quality centre half if not 2..!!

It’s as plain as the nose on your face..

Playing devil's advocate, I do wonder how complicit Sage might have been. Was he offered a deeper squad at the cost of some of the 'better' established players? I don't suppose we shall ever know.

I can't begin to imagine what the approach will be against Brighton, but Sage has proven against Leeds that he can rein in his more expansive tendencies. The away trip to Lyon will probably determine the line up.

He needs to find that balance.

I see the bloke who posted the ‘Sage out/Howe in’ comment got a lot of stick but we did look extremely vulnerable again today. Could easily have been a very different tone to this thread, a team on their game could have had a hat full.

This win today was worth more than the 3 points for me, if I could pick only one home game for a win this far into the season it would have been this one, but we had luck on our side and needed it.

Onwards and upwards (hopefully). COYP

My nose is not plain, it's extremely attractive for a nose.

I was very happy with today's result.

I started watching at the start using my Now subscription.....not bad having wrangled a twenty quid a month deal.....and after Forest's goal went in at three minutes I turned it off out of frustation.

Going back to it at sixty minutes the 2-1 scoreline put a considerable smile on my face.

Very safisfied.

May as well just bring Roy back if thats the sort of football you want

I love Sageball
Me too. So less regimented and predictable than Glasner-ball and much more exciting than Royball. The fact that we are so poor at defending in crosses is not a failure of any system. We will likely see the defence sharpen up and always have the option of a pacy CB in January. Once Sarr and Mateta are back as well, we'll have lots of options. I think we're in for a strong season once we fix the defence.

We’ve got two very decent loan centre half’s and Tomiyasu is a very solid player albeit perennially injured. Disasi obviously suspended and Ahanor was I think an improvement to the back 3 when he came on.

Yes we should have spent some dosh on a decent player, however the one we wanted was injured. The problem in the first half today was the massive gaps between wing backs and CHs and the willingness to gift the far post to the opposition.
