Is it? Do you think the players have unilaterally decided to press high? Do you think they’ve taken it on themselves to try and pass out from the back and push the wingbacks on and the centre halves wide? I don’t. I think those are Sage’s tactics.

The problem is sloppy passing and constantly losing the ball. That’s on the players.

Thats a problem. There are a lot to chose from. But one reason we are losing the ball all the time is the shape is all wrong. Against Leeds we dropped Kamada back into midfield and Wharton deeper. That gave us passing options. It worked so naturally Sage has binned it. Also if we are a team that loses the ball regularly why play out from the back? Why push so many players on and leave us exposed so often? All of that is on the manager’s tactics

They’re just not playing for Sage. Nobody’s busting a gut and I just don’t think you can play Pino and Kamada together in a Prem game. The huge gap in the middle is embarrassing and, if deliberate very poor tactically. I’ve never got three at the back. Why play three lumps when you only need two? That also buys you another midfielder.
