Every so often, some people complain about Saudi Arabia executing people. Usually coincides with some kind of other reason to dislike them. Probably will come up again soon due to the price of oil.

Long-term peace and growth follow from strength and pragmatism anyway.

Of course they do, but not like this. Politicians always try to keep the voters onside but the good ones tell the truth when doing so. There are many foolish and more selfish voters but even they understand honest appraisal of difficult situations.

People like me understand why taxes need to rise. I also accept that the cost of benefits must be lowered and that more who claim to be unfit to work must be required to work.
