Labour Party politics

Probably but be very scared of any “deal” we sign to be allowed back into the club.
Somewhat childish behaviour by the EU, in particular by France, don’t you think? Not worried about the state of their Northern coastline just as long as they teach the Brits a lesson. How much do we pay them to “patrol”?

Yet all of this predicted and fobbed off as scaremongering. As sure, we had a veto seat and were in a very powerful position which I don't expect to regain, why would they trust us. Yet it's obvious and was obvious that leaving would be temporary because money talks, and financially we are better off in.

The EU has voted through for far tougher immigration rules, and yet here we are.

I see no reason why cooperation regarding migrants or the laws regarding their treatment has to come with federal control from Europe.

Migrants should not be reaching France. This is about political will. A government detirmined to halt migrants will do it. The ECHR and the Union have done nothing but hinder that. Being a member means that you just share out the illegals, not send them back.

Yet this is what has happened.

And as Poland have proven the EU actually had little to do with it.

I can't see a single advantage to being in the EU.

The economies of most EU countries are struggling. None of our woes will be remedied by rejoining. You will never convince me otherwise.

This halfway house Brexit is pointless though, with the courts and the import taxes and just as much immigration. It's like being signed up for the EU with none of the actual benefits, only costs and telling offs. Certainly, unhelpful for the average person too currently.

It needs to be full EU, use it to an advantage if you can. Don't actually be at all dictated to by them but pretend to be. That's how countries like Poland are operating. Denmark's doing what it wants - which is interesting. The main push back is from their own left, although it's left that is in.

Or no EU at all, rogue state, obviously low corporation tax, undercut Europe. Is it even worth putting proper border controls? There seems to be no actual political will for it. And it's apparently far right to even want it. But a country of business and Duty Free. A lot of people likely in the service industries, customer care but perhaps some more manufacturing. Try to lure companies with zero tax. Like Ireland did. Then do backhand deals to work out how to ensure low tax for big companies. Like Ireland did. Make it cheap and business will come.
There's no way the EU wants a cheap business environment.
Labour will want a back door EU anyway with little fuss. As the EU will charge maybe 50bn for the privilege, that won't happen as quietly as they would like.

I'm afraid I can't help you if you think that there's no business advantage with having a union to avoid barriers for trade with our largest and nearest trading partners.

I assume that you also think that Scotland would be better off as independent from the UK, and Piddington also better off alone too.

We would be literally insane to rejoin the EU.

I agree. But we are hardly 'sane' outside it. Which is my point. I voted Leave on the basis that the UK would take full advantage of that.

Instead, a Tory Government, on the back of a 'Get Brexit Done' mantra, flooded the country with millions of migrants. A Tory Government I voted for. All aided by a civil service who are literal traitors. Ditto with the justice system. We live in an insanity. So why not go all in and actually embrace this madness? If the Right can actually take control of the EU, as I desperately live in hope of, then it can all be reversed. And even if not, at least the Right can operate on far more of a joint basis.

Our system is absolutely rotten. As is the EU. That is not in doubt. But I also now see the wider struggle in terms of our wider civilisation. Germany is voting for the AfD in huge numbers. France is voting for their equivilent in huge numbers. Italy is literally led (albeit with some huge disapointments) by a leader decried as being of the 'Far Right'. The Far Right is surging in Spain as well now.

Refusing to be black-pilled on the EU anymore. We need to get back in it, take it over, then start locking up the Left en-masse and then get on with the business of remaking the West again. Smiling as I write this but f*** it, the world is insane. Maybe we need to play some wild-cards now because we have nothing left to lose

....if only someone would've mentioned this was going to happen

No it wouldn't, it was insane to leave it.

Rejoin in full and adopt the Euro, then bully them from the inside
Rejoin the EU but put in strict policy controls for the right to control our parish (localism) and most solid bulwarks against globalisation. Start to make our own goods again and pay more for quality, durability and environmental sustainability.

We aren't Scotland. They are a minnow.

Th EU started as a trading block. That is what we joined. The price for being a member was too high. The landscape changed.
The performance of member states has been poor with only France doing better than us. That is after the disaster of COVID and the Iran war.

Being in the EU has nothing to do with the political mood in any given country. Governments of different colours come and go. Political cooperation between governments of similar persuation can happen regardless of membership.

The issue is that our ruling elites, and that of the EU, are all of the same cloth. Ditto with judicarys, ditto with civil services etc. The rot is deep within the foundations.

I am not now advocating for us to rejoin the EU because I like it in anyway. Its just that I have lost total faith in the UK system. I want the EU destroyed. But we cannot do that from the outside. The nation state, in the face of unstoppable globalism, is rapidly becoming a historical anomaly. If the West is to survive then it will do so as a unified body, not as individual states.

There is a strong sentiment of 'no more brother wars' on the FR which is a sentiment I endorse fully. But if we are not to fight anymore, then we need to unite. Against a common foe.

And the EU potentially offers us the framework to do that. Suspect it is a lot more pliable in terms of a united Right attempting to radically transform it than what we have in the UK. It does not have the entrenched class system that pollutes our entire way of Governance.

If you think the boats will stop, if we rejoin, you really need to get your head out of your arse. Hundreds lining up along the French coast, where will they go? Europe doesn’t want them. If we go against democracy and rejoin without a vote, part of the deal will be for us to take them anyway. Remember Sangatte? We were in the EU then, the deal was to take shitloads and France would not allow another camp to appear.
A rejection by one EU court is a rejection by all.

Only non EU countries are worth a visit.

Lucky us, eh?

AB should have a route back in to the EU and if not has to get one quick imo.

He should use it in an early election to attack the opposition reform party.

Farage is a sitting duck on brexit, they can justly blame the whole disaster on him.

Instead of 'take back control' very successful for leave, hit them with 'brexit wrecked it' the figures all show it.

About 65% now want us to rejoin that is a big margin, similar to when we jolined the EEC as it was.

There is very little growth possible in the UK, the politicians promises do not stack up, and the worlds largest trading block is a few miles away.

Notice how the politicians are dropping 'well brexit has damaged us' into routine conversations.

'Brexit wrecked it'

I'm in the wrong business.....

😎

Honest question to those of you who want to rejoin the EU.
Does it bother you that you would be unable to elect the people that would make the laws that govern you?

We elected a Tory Government. On a mandate of 'Getting Brexit Done.' On the back of a surge in white working class people switching over to it. Collapsing the 'Red Wall'.

And what laws did that Government bring in to thank them? None. Johnson had the majority to do what was needed. Instead he had a jolly up.

They literally opened up the gates to millions of migrants. They literally fully endorsed all the woke BS. Labour are more 'right-wing' in many ways than Johnsons Government.

Our votes in the UK are worthless. 2019 proved that.

It's a bitter pill to swallow but one lots of people on the Right need to take. We are not voting our way out of this in the UK. Our entire system hates us. And our votes make no difference to that. So lets actually get into an organisation that IF, and its a huge if, we can take control of, we can then be part of something much bigger.

How would we take control?
