I don't find it odd at all that Israel want to restock. I would find it odd if the US taxpayer is the one funding it, if that is the case - ChatGPT is very sure it is, and much of the media are reporting the same;

I don't take performative morality lessons from genocide supporters - you don't give a s*** about the women in Gaza, as evidenced by your continued support of their slaughter. You only care about the article because you think it helps you score points.
I've no doubt there are some abhorrent people within Gaza, as there are everywhere - it doesn't mean I think they're fair game for war crimes.

I think you are still stuck on that the US does provide Israel with money for Israel's defense. What I'm trying to explain, and clearly doing a poor job of explaining, is that the US government cannot, and does not, just telling companies to "give" those weapons to Israel. They have to be purchased, which makes it a sale. I know it is just semantics to you, but I've spent years studying this incredibly complex system so being specific about it is important because if it was done the way you are saying, lots and lots of people end up in jail including the Secretary of Defense and Secretary of State.

I'm happy to call it a sale - as you say, that's largely semantics and not a point worth contesting for me.
But that doesn't change the fact the US taxpayer is ultimately footing the bill for a big chunk of this - I'm happy to label it a sale, but it is worth being clear it's not a sale in the conventional sense of Israel simply buying these weapons with its own money.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it's probably pretty telling it itself that there has to be these ludicrous hoop-jumping exercises in order to keep deals like this the right side of someone going to jail!

The US does it to keep influence over Israel. 1973 freaked the Israelis out and ensuring that Israel maintained a conventional edge over its neighbors was determined to be a better option then the Israelis nuking all of their neighbors.
Is the US bribing Israel? Yes, but being able to cross through the Suez Canal without glowing in the dark is pretty cool so it ends up being worth the cost. And to be fair, any stability in the Middle East is basically bought by the US at this point and if the US decides to walk away we are returning to the Akkadian/Assyrian, Persian/Parthian/Early Caliphate/Ilkhanate/Ottoman crap eras where they all just kill each other and the rest of the world ignores them. Which is what will happen when either they run out of oil or we find a different energy source.
