Glasner first to be sacked this season.

It was a bad giveaway by Munoz though. Definitely outpaced. And also out of position. Much as I loved him when he was with us.
 
In my opinion, it’s fair to say that a lot of us felt rejuvenated when Glasner first joined Palace. His candid media conferences, his ideas about how he wanted us to play, and his ability to motivate the players were a breath of fresh air. He was ‘quirky’ !

But winning the FA Cup changed a lot of things. Both management and players seemed to start believing they were now too good for the club and began looking for better opportunities.

Glasner was guilty of this too. His increasingly frustrated media comments created unrest, and he made various claims about his ambitions without, perhaps, fully acknowledging that it was Palace who had given him the platform to achieve so much.

So, with his reputation at a high point, he seemingly believed — or was advised — that leaving Palace was the right move because he could do better elsewhere.

Fast forward, and he may well now be one of the highest-paid managers around. But at what cost?

The ‘Big’ club jobs never materialised, and he was fortunate that Forest came calling. What looked like a step up became a reminder that career progress is not always measured by salary or status: sometimes, chasing something bigger means giving up the place where you were already building something special.

I recognise his outstanding contribution whilst at our club, however his level of performance declined perhaps on account of his injuries and the passage of time.
We witnessed the best version of Munoz, I happen to believe that at this stage of his career this will not be replicated.

His generally measured demeanour helped as well. Imagine if Ian Holloway had said the same things; he'd have sounded demented. Or more demented anyway.

I think he gives so much in every game it’s bound to catch up with him, he was brilliant in the World Cup. When he got to the final of the copa America with Colombia he looked jaded and average the start of that season with us, in fact we didn’t look the same team without his dynamic runs and went 8 or 9 games before we won

He gave so much in international games and was then f***ed for ages after every international break. I found that incredibly annoying. Laudable by him perhaps, but not good for us.

That’s true, obviously he had far flung flights to South America as well which didn’t help, it’s not like he was just popping across Europe
 
From the Forest fans forum yesterday, their fans seem to be learning fast.

His sheer stubbornness with this system could be his downfall. Three centre backs against a team that hadn't scored a goal...🤦‍♂️
I don’t understand how we can look so good against Villa in the second half last week and then lose to an absolutely awful Coventry side.The fact that he seemingly never beats the s*** teams is worrying, he’s earning a few hundred grand a week so I’d like to think he can work it out. I’m obviously fully behind the bloke as he’s shown he’s a good manager but today was embarrassing.Perhaps he needs to have a back up formation against the likes of Coventry as it seems his preferred formation is perfect for the top sides but crap against the bottom feeders.
I'm not a football manager but I feel like we'd actually benefit more from having two different set-ups depending on the kind of teams we face If a team is likely to have more of the ball than us, we go with the customary 3-4-2-1 formation. It seemed to work against Liverpool, Spurs and Villa, all of whom would be expected to have more of the ball.If a team is likely to have less of the ball than us, like Leeds or Coventry, go with the previous 4-2-3-1. Because not only do you have your defenders set against teams looking to low block and counter, you have players wide and through the middle.
The real worry today for me was that OG seemed unable to see that his system wasn't working and therefore he needed to change it. VP was very good at in-game management. OG needs to get better,
Subs were far too late.

It’s no surprise that Forest have got their own Forum experts who believe they can do a far better job than Glasner, just like we have.

I don’t much care for how Forest get on with him (hopefully very badly) but I am grateful for the success that he brought our club. Three trophies in two seasons is unheard of for us and he also did well at Wolfsburg & Frankfurt. He clearly knows what he’s doing, far more so than a few armchair experts on a fans forum.

Rubbish, the theory that no fan knows what they are talking about is insulting and wide of the mark. an Antiques expert knows all about a fine piece of furniture, doesn't mean he made it.
