Matt Lawrence was a versatile player for us, 'Ploughing his furrow' as a holding midfielder, a left-back and a central defender. He was a Peter Taylor signing from Millwall.
He used to be resident on the Triangle Estate in Burgess Hill.

He was also a skilled writer and often contributed to the matchday programme. I believe he had a weekly football column in a national paper for a time.
