Sarr is a quality player. We have no idea who/what started messing with his head - convincing him he could do better elsewhere.

However, the fact is, we need the energy and goals he brings to the team.

Don’t judge him on last night, he will get fitter, improve and like Guehi, give 100% before the inevitable departure.

Rumoured to be the reason Manchester United dropped all interest in Glasner after he publicly criticized the Palace ownership. They'd only just got rid of Amorim for the exact same thing.
Players and managers can be so thick sometimes. They just dont seem to get it that everyone is watching their behaviour, not just the club that owns their registration.

JP settled down after Jan, but I guess he would have been annoyed at the situation, not at the club (as we were letting him go). vs Sarr, who might not get that Liverpool offer ever again.

I cant see Liverpool returning in January. I imagine they've already moved on to more professional options

For managers clubs will definitely take note of ones who they perceive will cause trouble. Sadly for players the evidence is that players going on strike to force a move doesn’t enter into the thinking at all.

He didn't win me back. Especially now he's thrown another hissy fit and is expecting Palace to release him from a legally binding contract so he can get his 'dream move' on a free!

Yes, Munoz went on strike and refused to play for Ghent to force through a move to Palace. No one in South London was taking the moral high ground then.

I thought he did that last season? And he is genuinely injured now? I don't know for sure myself.

He signed a contract to receive £18.2m over a 5 year period, playing for Palace and all we expect is that he plays. He gets paid by Palace, whilst on International duty, which we don't stop him going to, gets paid whilst injured.
Is agreeing to sell him at below his market value, a sign of disrespect in his agents world?

I think he was talking about "the African player", so African players generally rather than Sarr specifically. When I read the quotes I took it to mean he feels they get exploited/commoditized more than players from other parts of the world.

On the face of it football has to be one of the most meritocratic industries I can think of where if you are good enough you get to the top clubs and demand the top salaries.

But it would not surprise me if there is substance to what he is saying.

Agreed - they clearly wanted the winger from Brighton, Minteh, who would have fitted their profile - prem experience, young etc.

When the 2nd bid of £60m was turned down they looked elsewhere and Sarr was considered as a decent alternative. At 28 and not really a winger he was a different profile. The moment Palace showed any resistance to a deal and/or asked for a decent transfer fee (e.g. over £50m) they walked away. Was a formal offer ever made? Feels similar to Doucoure a few years ago. Liverpool enquired and walked away before a formal bid was made.

Barcola plays on the left so think they may have been looking for both deals, with maybe Gakpo to City to balance the books.

Sarr needs to get his head straight and fast. It's not like he's playing for peanuts now
