Shits about to hit the fan. In a Meta, GeoPolitical f***-kinda way. Reading that Saudi is cancelling all oil exports until November, at the earliest.

Forget all this talk of British boots in Iran. Suspect they might end up having to defend Saudi Arabia against a load of Goat-herders in flip-flops and Toyota pick-up trucks.

it has always fascinated me how successful the Saudi State has been at defending itself from the Saudi People. The Arab Spring never happened there.

That Oil money can buy you a heck of a lot of clout. Carrot and Stick. Both in abundance.

Saudi is simply a family run business.

If oil had been discovered earlier then there was a decent chance the European powers could have annexed the whole thing before the Armericans moved in after US geologists discover the oil in 1938.

Might even have averted WW2

China, Japan, India and South Korea are the largest importers of Saudi crude

So I guess Europe is first to get limited. Again, I refer to my point above about if only we had a nearby European neighbour who could supply all the oil and gas Europe needs.

oh yes. Protecting the democracy of that country. A bit like the democracy in all the other mineral-rich places. Kuwait has a lovely level of democracy.

And many Kuwaiti people did not welcome Nigel as a liberator from Saddam.

Talks of energy bills increasing 25% by January. Petrol prices exploding again. Interest rates rising again. Rents on the climb.

You'd hope we're approaching some sort of breaking point, but our media are more concerned with boats.

Don't worry, all them cornfields and ballet in the evening, any day soon.

the Oil War will take us back to October 1929......the Wall Street Crash and the Great Depression. Leading to the rise of monster politicians in EVERY European country. The Far Left and the Far Right at each others throat again.
