Woke is alive and well

Listen mate, if you're going to start writing up your sexual fantasies.....I demand the right to stick up Sidney Sweeney in lingerie videos on here!
I've tried to get into this wokey stuff (don't want to be accused of being narrow minded and all that) so I've got some pictures of Sidney James in lingerie. Despite my initial phwooar, must say I'm struggling a little bit.
Have to say that after all I'd heard about Ms Sweeney, I was a bit disappointed that when I googled her, all I got was John Thaw saying "you're nicked"

Yeah, it's not quite the same is it.

He could have at least got a proper haircut.

How old are you again?

Ageism, using stereotypes (incorrect). It's called bigotry Dan.

How about you address the point? I don't see it as entertaining to play you as a simp character in '2nd Life' GTA6

Seems to be a backlash by people over the new Sydney Sweeney ads and how real sports women / athletes should look.

Where were these same voices when a man (Dylan mulvaney) did photoshoots in women's sportswear? 🤔

But I guess the simple answer may be that women hate other women especially ones that are better looking?

It's such blue meat for the feminists and their male simps in the media.

I mean, model does near nude ads with sports equipment.

Then dim bint runner makes non sequitur saying 'this is what women in sport look like'.

Peak absurdity.....what?

These people are beyond help.

The runners comment didn't make much sense, agreed - the advert is clearly not presenting Sweeney as a sportswoman or athlete.

But the criticism around how women are associated with sport is fair - women's sport has a long history of fighting against coverage and marketing that focuses excessively on attractiveness, their bodies and sex appeal, as opposed to talent and skill. I think this is really what the runner wanted to get across, but didn't do a great job of it.

That's the main complaint I've seen.

The same situation as boy band members then when their singing and dancing abilities are often overlooked.

Wernt women sexualizing the tennis player a few weeks ago when he took his shirt off? 🤔

We agree on this juxtaposition not making much sense.

Also, your observation is correct in explaining what they think they are doing.

However, it's ridiculous and it's not only ridiculous in the sense of criticising this model....who I can't see for the life of me is doing anything wrong....but it's ridiculous in criticising what they tend to refer to as the 'male glaze'.

Most women aren't interested in sport and most men prefer to watch male sport.....of the ones who are interested in watching of course some of them are perving.....So what? I've heard women make comments about Rugby or football players.....What's wrong with that, it might be the only interest they have?

If they want to get rid of these viewers....Ok.....but I don't see it doing them any good.....Can't be many of them anyway.

If they think they are encouraging more girls to take up sport I don't think the angle of implying 'it's alright to be ugly'.....said by a runner with a face full of make up.....is going to do that and is the wrong focus. It comes across as attention seeking to me.

It's also a weird form of snobbery. A weird telling others who they can and can't fancy.....Even if it were possible, which is isn't, it's just a pointless attempt to shame males (because that's who it seems to be directed at) for natural responses and attempting to control them.

You seem to just vaguely grab things from your culture war memory bank and apply them as terrible analogies. It's like a buzzword matching game.

I don't know if 'women' (all of the women?) were sexualising 'the tennis player' (which one?) a few weeks ago - some women may well have been.

If those women also make the argument about the sexualisation of women's sport, you could reasonably accuse them of double standards, sure. I'd argue that historical context would be relevant in that conversation, but it would be a reasonable accusation of those people.

I'm not sure what you think that proves in relation to my post.

I'm sure the vast majority of sensible women regard all this as nonsense.

Feminist claptrap and of those that do support it.....I bet they are mostly hypocrites in the sense you mention.

Nothing wrong with finding someone attractive......whether that's in sports or anywhere else.

If girls or women won't do a sport because they are concerned that it might get them the male glaze fancying them....well then they have far more problems to deal with than sport......The vast majority of people aren't looking at them that way.

These people are loonies.
