This is a bigger deal for the Irish economy then it is for Americans. The plane, vehicles and secret service are already paid for so it is a sunk cost whether he flies to Ireland or Florida.

US news doesn't normally cover things like this because people don't care about him going off to a golf course unless someone is shooting at him. Especially during American football season with college football tomorrow (today for your gentlemen) and the NFL on Sunday.
